Week 13 Homework
Proverbs 10:1-32, 11:1-31
My friend, this homework is not for cramming. To get the most out of this study you need to seek to work on it a little bit every day. Keep in mind that you will get out of it what you put into it. So, invest deeply and be deeply blessed by an increase in the wisdom of our Savior! 1. Read Proverbs 10-11 each day this week or 3 days of chapter 10 and 3 days of chapter 11. 2. Work each day this week on memorizing Proverbs 10:26 and 11:25 3. Mark your key words as you encounter them in the text of Chapter 10-11 (see bookmark.) 4. This week also mark the words righteous/ness and wicked. I used light blue to shade over righteous and put a big R on it and for wicked you can draw a black cloud around the whole word. (Official Inductive symbols)
5. Every person since Adam and Eve is a son or daughter. What guideline and warning does Solomon start this collection of Proverbs off with?
As a believer you are also a child of God. What should motivate your pursuit of the path of wisdom?
6. Look up the definitions of consequence and reward. Write them here:
•
How do you see these two things affect your choices?
•
Are you reward driven? What are the proofs?
•
Do consequences deter you? What re the proofs?
7. Take some time to evaluate how God uses consequences and rewards in these chapters and in the whole of scripture.
8. What Bible story do you often think about concerning consequences?
Rewards?
As John Kitchen says, “Proverbs was written not merely to tell us what to do, but also to make us think.
1. We choose our actions, and actions have consequences, whether intentional or unintentional. Throughout your readings this week of chapters 10 and 11, write out some (or all) of the consequences of the path of righteousness versus the path of the wickedexamples given:
Rewards to the Righteous: (verse number) Example: (2) delivered from death (3) no hunger
Consequences to the Wicked: Example: (2) no profit from ill-gotten gain (3) cravings thrust aside by God
2. Work on your topical index with the verses in Chapter 10-11 in your notebook or on notebook paper if you aren’t doing Hidden Treasures.
Optional Hidden Treasures Homework: •
As you read Proverbs chapter 10 or 11 every day this week, read it to your children at least 3 times. Perhaps, now that we’re doing 2 chapters a week you will do three days of the first chapter and 3 days of the second chapter. There are 3 pictures for Chapter 10 and 4 for Chapter 11! Lots this week! Make copies for your kids to color as you read or put it on display for them to look at while you read and have them listen for the words that depict the drawing.
