LHC Registration Night!!! Wednesday, August 12th 5:00-7:30 p.m. at BMIA. We are Excited for the 2015-2016 LHC Season!!! You will receive a coupon to redeem at the Howling Dog for a “FREE Burger Basket”. Online registration is available for both in state and out of state families. Hockey Club Board Meetings: All Members are invited and encouraged to attend the monthly board meetings. It’s a great way to stay informed about your organization! Regular meetings are held the first Monday of the month.
Next Meetings are ~ Monday, Sept. 7th at 7:30p.m. at Grand Stay Hotel ~ Monday, October 5th at 7:30 p.m. at BMIA Referee Clinics… USA REFEREE REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! Go to www.usahockey.com to get registered! With the hockey season just around the corner it’s also time get ourselves registered through USA hockey for refereeing. Refereeing is a great way to be even more involved with hockey, helping you understand the rules, keeping you active and competitive pay! Please consider being an official this year. The process to become an official is very easy. Remember no officials; no home game can be played in Luverne. Seminar dates and time will soon follow. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Help keep your child’s skin healthy and eliminate odor by using the O-Zone Machine for all sports equipment! Volunteer Requirements The LHC Board decided we needed to revamp our volunteer hours due to struggles we have had last couple seasons. Please review the new volunteer requirements carefully and if you have any questions please feel free to contact any LHC Board Member. - All hours must be completed by April 1 any hours worked after April 1 will be for the upcoming season. - No rolling over of hours between Concession and Building and Maintenance without prior approval. Absolutely no rolling fundraising into any category. - In-state first year Families do not have to do any volunteer hours for their first year. - All out of state families are required to fulfill all hours and fundraisers - LHC Board and Committee Members and BMIA Committee Members (with a child in the LHC) are required to participate in BMIA Fundraiser and fill in where needed in concessions and building and maintenance. Concession Hours – 30 Hours - must be 14yrs old to work in concession stand and accompanied by 2 adults during games/ tournaments/figure skating show. Building and Maintenance – 15 hours – include penalty box, score keeper, announcer, and rink clean up 3 times per year, Optimist Club Wine Tasting and high school admission. Fundraising –10 hours - include wreaths, butter braids, hot stuff pizza, and Schwan’s, ect. (Hours will not be given to an LHC Members for running fundraisers) Tournaments/Games – Tournament/Game Hours will be posted online for all LHC Members to work. All hours that are not filled the Families of the home tournament/games are required to fill in all open hours. Tournaments and Games bring in great profit so we need workers! Registration Night – - Buy Out – If you would like to buy out your concession and/or building and maintenance hours you pay $15/hr the night of registration and check will be cashed right away. - Fundraising hours are able to be bought out for $100.00 only with your registration. If you choose not to buy out fundraising hours you will be billed for any remaining fundraising hours. - All un-worked hours will be billed at the following rates, 1-5 hours at $15 per hours, and greater than 5 hours at $30.00 per hour. All hours must be worked by April 1, 2016. The LHC Board understands change can be hard but it is very much needed. We truly appreciate your understanding and the time, effort and dedication you put into the LHC. We are looking forward to a fun and successful 2015-2016 Season! Thank You!!!!
HELPING AS A VOLUNTEER IS WHAT MAKES OUR PROGRAM A SUCCESS! In addition to the candy sale fundraiser and the BMIA Raffle, each family is required to fulfill the following work hour requirements: Fundraising: 10 hours/ season or buy out option of $100.00 only with registration. Some activities include: Wreath Sale, Butter Braid and Schwan’s food sales. Hours worked will be tracked by the event chair. Concessions: 30 hours/ season or a buy out option of $15/hour only with registration. Must be 14yrs old to work in concession stand and accompanied by 2 adults during games/ tournaments/figure skating show. Arena Support Building & Maintenance: 15 hours/season or buy out option of $15/ hour only with registration. Activities include: Coaching, Arena Cleanup Day, Scorekeeping, Timekeeping, and Penalty box/goal judges, high school admission. Volunteers who work the scoreboard and announcing will receive time and a half. All Scheduling of hours is conducted by signing up online at www.luvernehockey.org . Hours worked will be monitored for the Arena Support/ Building & Maintenance by your Parent Rep and Concessions will be recorded by the Concessions Director. Tournaments/Games – Tournament/Game Hours will be posted online for all LHC Members to work. All hours that are not filled the Families of the home tournament/games are required to fill in all open hours. Tournaments and Games bring in great profit so we need workers! If you have signed up to work and have a conflict, please find a replacement. Many hours are left open due to individuals signing up in advance and canceling at the last minute. Please check the Concession and Building & Maintenance Schedule frequently, arena events/ game schedules change often. Hours worked will be tracked/schedules change often. All hours must be completed by April 1, 2016. Families not fulfilling their fundraising, building and maintenance and concessions requirements will be billed for any remaining hours at the end of the 20152016 season at a rate of $15/ hour for 1-5 hours and $30/hour for 5.5 hours or more.
