M6 Step3 Seize

Step #3: Seize In the final stage of the three step system, the seize stage, you go for the jugular. You close the sale. To do that, you can’t just offer your customers any old deal. It has to be irresistible. The reason for that is that people have instant access to the market for your product and similar products, so their initial reaction to your offer will likely be to go online and see if there are better deals. So, you have to keep them away from places like Amazon. Here’s an example. When the Ginsu infomercials started running, the knives were selling for around $14.95. However, people would get a free Ginsu knife if they ordered during the commercial. But wait. They would also get six steak knives, a paring knife, and a filet knife. Although none of those items cost much to throw in, it presented an irresistible offer to people and compelled them to order the Ginsu knives. Even if you can’t think of anything to throw in to make an irresistible offer, you can always take pieces out of your main product and present them as bonuses that people are getting. For example, consider for a moment that you’re selling a 32-ounce can of cleaning product. You could break that into two 16-ounce cans, and you could tell people that, if they order right now, you’ll throw a second 16-ounce can of cleaning product in for free. And you’ll even make it more convenient for them by packaging them into one 32-ounce can. No matter what niche you’re in, or product you’re selling, there’s no excuse for not creating irresistible offers to entice your customers into buying from you. In the next lesson, we’re going to take a look at what to do when someone says no to you.
