Scandinavian Knitting Cost: $95 class alone with Mary Jane Mucklestone Cost: $105 class & lecture Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 22 from 2:00-5:00 pm - Sold Out Thursday afternoon, Feb. 23 from 2:00-5:00 pm 1 three-hour class - 2 separate sessions Learn how to knit a traditional Scandinavian hat with author and knitwear designer Mary Jane Mucklestone. You’ll learn two-color stranded knitting, a Norwegian purl stitch, and two-color garter stitch in the round. Must be competent to independently cast-on, knit, purl, and knit in the round on circular and double-pointed needles Storhedder pattern, yarn, stitch markers, marking tape, Mother of Purl project bag Bring your own 16” circular US sizes 5 and 7 and size 7 double-pointed needles (not included but available for purchase) Mary Jane Mucklestone, Knitwear Designer

Color Inspiration for Fair Isle Knitting Cost: $15 lecture alone Wednesday evening, Feb. 22 from 6:00-7:00 pm Ever wonder how Mary Jane Mucklestone comes up with the color combinations she uses in her books and knitting designs? Many were developed just by taking a stroll along the roads and byways of the remote and rugged Shetland Islands. This lecture will be a combination of a Shetland travelogue juxtaposed with swatches directly inspired by the landscape. Images of traditional textiles from the Shetland Museum and other local collections are also included. This lecture will inspire you to see your own daily environment in a different more colorful way!

Yoga for Knitters Cost: $10 per class, please pre-register Fourth Sunday of the month, Feb. 26, March 26 from 1:00-2:00 pm Each class is 1 hour This one-hour seated yoga class will focus on postures that will help relieve tired arms, shoulders and hands. Learn different strategies for over-use injury prevention and recovery. Perfect for knitters new and experienced in yoga. Elizabeth has been certified as a yoga instructor for over 12 years and is in the process of opening her own yoga studio, Celebration Tree Yoga in Durham, Maine.
