Women in Super (Victoria) Mavis Robertson Professional Development Scholarship –up to $2,000 per winner APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN The Mavis Robertson Professional Development Scholarship for WIS Victorian members is offered annually, around March. WIS seeks to provide education, training and support to women in the superannuation industry, and to develop and broaden women’s business, professional and personal networks. It also seeks to promote equal participation of women at all levels within the superannuation and financial services industry. As such, up to three Professional Development Scholarships are offered to current WIS Victorian members. The scholarships allow successful applicants to attend a conference or complete a relevant training course or education program of their choice in Australia, within 12 months or receiving the scholarship, up to a limit of $2,000 (including GST). Applications are encouraged from women of any seniority or experience.

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP The Scholarship will cover registration for a training course, education program or conference attendance up to the value of $2,000 including GST. All entries will be reviewed by the WIS Victorian Scholarship Selection Committee (Committee). The Committee reserves the right to vary the number and value of scholarships based on the number and quality of applications received.
ELIGIBILITY, SELECTION AND CONDITIONS The Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of their application, which should meet the following criteria:
Women in Super Victoria member, Primary residential address located within Victoria, Applications must be received by the deadline to be considered, Demonstrate the desire to develop as an individual both professionally and personally.
The training course, education program or conference must be completed within 12 months of being awarded the Scholarship. WIS will cover the cost up to a limit of $2,000 including GST. If the value of the training course, education program or conference is less than the value of the scholarship, only the value of the course will be awarded to the recipient. All candidates must provide an application form, a resume and any supporting material about the course. A one page written report must be provided within one month of the completion of the course/program, covering the outcomes/benefits of the course, what they have learnt and insights about the experience.

Who is on the selection committee? The Committee is made up of the WIS Victorian Committee members. Will I have to attend an interview? The Committee will consider and make their decision based on the written applications. When will I know if I have been successful? Scholarship winners will be announced via phone and email, and be formally presented with the Scholarship at a future WIS event.
