DESCRIPTION The Mesh Lace Slouchy is my favorite hat pattern! The mesh detail is very flexible and allows for an extra relaxed fit. It's made with ultra soft merino wool for a super cozy feel. SUPPLIES US Size 6 DPNs or Circular Needle (4.0 mm) 1 skein of Madeline Tosh DK: shown in candlewick. 100% superwash merino wool (225 yds / 205 meters)

THE PATTERN CO 76 sts. Place marker. Join in the round. Brim: Round 1: Knit all sts. Round 2: Purl all sts. Repeat rounds 12 for a total of 21 rounds. End with a knit round. Body: Round 1: K1, *YO, sl 1, k2, psso the 2 k sts; repeat from * to end of round. Round 2: Knit. Round 3: *Sl 1, k2, psso the 2 k sts, YO; repeat from * to the last stitch, k1. Round 4: Knit. Repeat rounds 14 for a total of 15 times (or until hat is about 10 inches long from cast on edge). Decrease Rounds: Round 1: K1, *sl 1, k2, psso the 2 k sts; repeat from * to end of round. (51 sts) Round 2: Knit. Round 3: *K1, sl 1, k2, psso the 2 k sts; repeat from * to last 3 sts. K1, sl 1, k1, psso the knit stitch. (38 sts) Round 4: Knit. Round 5: Sl 1, k1, psso the knit stitch; *sl 1, k2, psso the 2 k sts; repeat from * to end of round. (25 sts) Finishing: Cut the yarn. Thread the yarn through all 25 loops on the needles and back through the first few loops a second time. Remove the needles. Pull tight on the yarn to close the opening. Tie a knot. Weave in the end.
