Minot Soccer Association Financial Assistance Program Minot Soccer Association (MSA) has established a financial assistance program for soccer players who are eligible to participate on a MMFC competitive travel soccer team. This financial assistance program is funded by income received during club fundraiser activities and donations. All MMFC activities designated as a “club fundraiser” will contribute 2.0% of net proceeds or $200.00, whichever amount is greater, to the MSA Financial Assistance Program Account. This financial assistance program may be applied for in two (2) instances: 1. For individual soccer players who are eligible to participate on a travel soccer team, yet require assistance in paying the associated fees. Financial assistance is available on a limited basis for those who complete the application and submit the required documentation to prove the need for assistance. Applications need to be submitted each year by the deadline on the application for the appropriate season. The assistance will contribute to the cost of the club registration and fees ~ it will not cover all the costs of travel soccer. Parents or guardians are responsible for paying the balance of all fees, buying the uniform and all other costs associated with agreeing to join a travel soccer team. Applications must be submitted each year, for each season, prior to February 1, for outdoor summer season and/or prior to August 15, for the indoor winter season, without regard for whether or not an individual or family received prior assistance. Decisions as to who will be awarded financial aid monies will be determined, as funds are available, by the MSA Board of Directors with consideration of the following: a. Financial needs of the family b. Money in reserve in Financial Assistance Fund c. Number of soccer players applying for scholarships d. Family’s demonstrated commitment to the MMFC and soccer player’s team e. Soccer player’s demonstrated commitment to the MMFC and their team f. Priority may be given to eligible youth meeting one or more of the following criteria; however, these criteria are not a requirement to receive assistance: i. Member of a multi-child family ii. Living in a single parent home iii. Receiving assistance from programs such as: Food Stamps, Medicaid, SSI, Foster Care, WIC, Free/Reduce School Lunch, etc., as evidenced by official documentation of participation in these programs, as requested g. The program is available to both boys and girls of all ages. h. There is no limit to the number of children in a particular family that may receive financial assistance.

Recipients and their families must remain in good standing with MSA, inclusive of responsibilities associated with the Fifa Laws of the Game and MSA Parent Code of Conduct, team/club fees, and prompt, regular attendance to practice, training and games. MSA is an equal opportunity organization. It forbids discrimination on the basis of race, religion, sex, nationality, age and health needs.

Your application and personal information will remain confidential and will be shredded after being reviewed for consideration. Notification of decisions will be made via letter within approximately 4 weeks after the application deadline. 2. For individual soccer players who are recognized for special achievement and invited to a major soccer event that will be substantially more expensive than usual travel soccer events (e.g. an international event.) MSA recognizes that despite a family’s ability to pay for the expected annual expenses as part of a competitive travel program, our organization wants to provide assistance, as able, to those soccer players with special opportunities that may be too excessive for a family to commit to. The assistance will contribute to the cost of the expenses related to attending this special event, including travel, registration fees, uniforms or other expenses as required for this soccer experience ~ it will not cover all the costs of attending this event. Parents or guardians are responsible for paying the balance of all fees, buying the uniform and all other costs associated with agreeing to participate in this event. Requirements: a. Submission of completed application at least 6 weeks prior to event. b. Written recommendation of individual’s MMFC coach. c. Evidence of additional fundraising activities to support this soccer player’s expenses related to this specific event; examples may include volunteering for MSA-sponsored activities, such as coaching for the recreation program, grounds-keeping, manning a concession stand during winter indoor soccer rec games, where no other entity is already confirmed to sell items. d. Documentation of player’s active service to his or her community and a strong desire to give back to the game of soccer, as evidenced by setting a positive example for other players and efforts to promote soccer as a positive experience. e. Written account of soccer player’s experience after the completion of this event to be shared on MSA website and with local news outlets. Decisions as to who will be awarded financial assistance monies will be determined, as funds are available, by the MSA Board of Directors as outlined here: a. The financial assistance program will be based on completion of the application and provision of required elements as stated above, on a case by case basis, as funds are available in the MSA Financial Assistance Program Account. b. The program is available to both boys and girls of all ages. c. There is no limit to the number of children in a particular family that may receive financial assistance. d. Recipients and their families must remain in good standing with MSA, inclusive of responsibilities associated with the Fifa Laws of the Game and MSA Parent Code of
