KYA Board of Directors Minutes of Meeting June 20, 2016 Call to order – 7:01 p.m. by Kevin Allen Approval of Minutes from the April meeting. Motion to approve by Nathan Brubaker and seconded by Jeff Allison. Unanimous approval. No minutes to approve from the May meeting as quorum was not attained. Daniel Flores – Invited the Mearl Crabill family to explain the active Memorial Scholarship and to tell us about Mearl and his dedication to KYA from 1998 – 2004 as a coach. His daughter Melissa played softball for KYA.

New Business: Board Resignations –  Consider the resignation of Steve Parker as a Football Commissioner. Motion to approve by Robin Morris and Nathan Brubaker seconded motion. Unanimous approval.  Consider the resignation of Jim Hicks as a Softball Commissioner. Motion to approve by Craig Rogers and Amy Manners seconded. Unanimous approval. Election for New Board Member:  Consider William Eurto as a new Football Commissioner. Motion to approve by Nathan Brubaker and Robin Morris seconded nomination. Unanimous approval, Garvin Fouts – Discussed potential new vendor for website  The website is going to be a migration of all the sports onto one single website. The initial migration (set-up) is $6,000 and $1,200 for software & maintenance per year.  Garvin will present a formal proposal for consideration at the July meeting.

Treasure Report: Nathan Brubaker  Motion to approve report as submitted by Avery Guice and Amy Manners seconded. Unanimous approval.

Sport VPs Reports

Basketball / Select Basketball: Amy Brubaker  Nothing to Report Softball / Select Softball: Daniel Flores  All Star season going on through the month of June  Reorganizing Commissioners, needing help, looking at dividing jobs up differently and more efficiently. Football: Garvin Fouts     

Spring Season wrapped up May 2nd fall registration opens through August 4th. Practices begin August 8th Already have 155 signed up the target is 500 kids. Working on by spring 2017 that all games will be played on KYA fields instead of KISD fields.  Coach’s interviews start next week. Baseball / Select Baseball: Chance Heady  Summer classic went well. Lance Stovall spoke more on the Classic saying that 2 out of 3 divisions were Keller teams. Tourney standpoint went great overall.  Select and Elite – coaches interviews starting this week.  July 11th – 19th fall rec. baseball registration is open. Facilities Report: Jack Jarrett  Repaired ice machine  Picked up porta-potties by fields 5 & 6  Picked up Gaters for service

Presidents Report: Kevin Allen  Parks and Recreation Meeting on Sports Park with City of Keller – KYA board members were invited to a future session to pitch our long & short term goals. Meeting was held and one of KYA’s biggest priorities was to get football fields built.  KYA Day with Salsaritas, a new restaurant in Keller. They gave 10% back to KYA if you said you were with KYA.  By-Laws allow 40 members KYA presently have 36 Meeting Adjourned: Craig Rogers motioned to adjourn
