Asset Management Tour New Zealand 18-23 November 2012 IPWEA (NAMS.AU) in association with its sister organisation NAMS NZ is pleased to announce a 6day Asset Management Technical Tour to New Zealand in November 2012. The Tour also incorporates attendance at the 2012 NAMS NZ International Asset Management Conference.

Visit Local Authorities Learn first hand from leading NZ Councils on their experiences in implementing asset management. The 2012 Tour will have a focus on:  Overview of current AM issues from Audit  Changing “drivers” for AM improvement  Community plans and levels of service  Other innovative AM implementations. Hear from leading asset management practitioners covering all asset classes (roads, stormwater, parks & buildings, water & sewerage) with the following visits planned on Tuesday 20th November through to Friday 23rd November:     

NZ Office of Auditor General Auckland Council Tauranga City Council Western Bay of Plenty District Council and NZ Transport Agency Hamilton City Council

Introductory Address & Dinner An introductory Dinner on Sunday evening in Auckland will set the scene with NZ experiences with the latest issues of managing infrastructure at least lifecycle cost and how councils are performing in recent audit assessments, among other things. This will provide context for the various council visits that will follow.

Attend NAMS NZ International AM Conference The tour begins with attendance at the 2012 NAMS NZ International Asset Management Conference in th th Auckland (Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 November). The theme of the Conference is “Asset Management at the Crossroads”. Full details of the NAMS NZ International AM Conference and program can be found at http://www.nams.org.nz/ Conference Registration as part of the Tour includes attendance at all business sessions, teas, and lunches, Conference Dinner as detailed in the program. Partner Registration at the Conference includes the Conference Dinner.

Study Tour Costs The cost for the land portion of the Study Tour is AU$3,000+GST per person based on single/double room hotel accommodation, breakfasts & lunches, dinners, bus/coach transportation, Council visits, Conference Registration and tour planning and organisation expenses. Participants are responsible for their own travel & transfer arrangements to/from New Zealand (to and from Auckland), personal expenses and optional sightseeing. The Tour commences in Auckland on Sunday th evening 18 November for dinner and introductory presentation. It concludes after the final Council visit in Auckland at midday Friday 23rd November. You may want to arrange your own sightseeing to see more of NZ either side of the Tour?

Partners Welcome There is an opportunity for Partners to stay with the Group as a significant part of the Tour is based in and around Auckland. Additional cost for Partners to stay with the Group (5 night’s twin/double share accommodation with partner, breakfasts, dinners) including Conference Dinner and internal travel (coach/bus ) is AU$450+GST.

Travel Insurance and Passports and Visas

Accommodation will be allocated at the discretion of the organisers and may be subject to change.

Participants are advised to make appropriate arrangements for insurance cover. All insurance, passports and visas are the responsibility of the Tour participants. The IPWEA, NAMS, Conference Organising Committee, Hotels, Conference Centre, The Conference Team and Councils and others associated with organising the Tour and Forum accept no liability or responsibility for death or illness, or injury/accident to or financial loss by any person participating in the Tour or attending the Conference, whatever the reason.

Air Travel & Transfers Participants are responsible for their own air travel & transfer arrangements to/from New Zealand (to and from Auckland). Internal travel in New Zealand is all included as part of the Tour package.

Payments A Deposit of AU$500 (for Partners add A$100) is required by Friday 5th October 2012. A completed Tour Registration Form is to accompany payment. Payment of the Balance is to be paid in full by th Friday 19 October 2012. Alternatively payment in full can be made at the time the Deposit is due. The amount of the Deposit will be forfeited if cancelling after 5th October 2012. However Registrations may be transferred to another person from the same organisation without penalty.
