New Zealand Study Tour 2017: Preliminary Itinerary May 30/31: Depart USA – Houston / Los Angeles / San Francisco* Confirmed business class travel with Air New Zealand from either: • IAH to Auckland – Departure 30 May; arrival 1 Jun • LAX to Auckland – Departure 31 May; arrival 2 Jun • SFO to Auckland – Departure 31 May; arrival 2 Jun *Specify your preferred departure point on your application; however, please note this departure point is not guaranteed.
June 1/2 - 4: Auckland Upon arrival into New Zealand, enjoy 2-3 nights in Auckland – hosted and arrangements made by Auckland Tourism (ATEED), preferred destination partner of Virtuoso. (Details TBC) June 3: Auckland Tourism New Zealand will host an evening event for all Virtuoso attendees and preferredproperty Lodge Managers, as well as the On-Sites and ATEED. (Details TBC) June 4: Depart Auckland in 4 groups The group will split into four separate itineraries* outlined briefly below, and will join one of the four Virtuoso Preferred On-Sites for the duration of the trip. *Specify your preferred itinerary on your application; however, please note preferred itineraries are not guaranteed.
Group 1 – hosted by Abercrombie & Kent: Christchurch & Canterbury, The Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay, Great Lake Taupo and Queenstown (including stays at Annandale, Otahuna Lodge, Wharekauhau Country Estate, The Farm at Cape Kidnappers, Huka Lodge, Eichardt’s Private Hotel, and Matakauri Lodge) Group 2 – hosted by Seasonz Travel: Queenstown, Christchurch & Canterbury, Great Lake Taupo, Hawkes Bay and Bay of Islands (including stays at Matakauri Lodge, Eichardt’s Private Hotel, Otahuna Lodge, Huka Lodge, The Farm at Cape Kidnappers, and Eagle’s Nest) Group 3 – hosted by Southern Crossings: The Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay, Great Lake Taupo, Christchurch & Canterbury and Queenstown (including stays at Wharekauhau Country Estate, The Farm at Cape Kidnappers, Huka Lodge, Otahuna Lodge, Annandale, Matakauri Lodge, and Eichardt’s Private Hotel)
Group 4 – hosted by Southern World: Hawkes Bay, Great Lake Taupo, Rotorua, Christchurch & Canterbury, Queenstown (including stays at The Farm at Cape Kidnappers, Huka Lodge, Treetops Lodge & Estate, Annandale, Otahuna Lodge, and The Spire Hotel) June 11: Depart Auckland for USA – Houston / Los Angeles / San Francisco Confirmed business class travel with Air New Zealand (arrival back in USA on 11 Jun).
PLEASE NOTE: Tourism New Zealand and the On-Sites will showcase overnight stays at as many Virtuoso Preferred Luxury Lodges as possible (based on availability). Therefore, this itinerary involves consecutive 1-night stays, with the objective to educate all delegates on the diverse breadth of luxury lodge product in New Zealand.
