PHS Choir Students Win 31 Medals at UIL Event
Paris High choir students won 31 medals, including 11 gold, for their solo performances at the UIL Choir Solo & Ensemble Contest earlier this semester. Eleven students earned gold medals to qualify for the State Solo & Ensemble Contest during the Memorial Day weekend. The PHS choir director is Jan Blize assisted by accompanist Dottie Billman and assistant director Hunter Sitz. Photographed (from left) are: Front row Eleven students earned a bronze medal for receiving a "superior" rating on a beginning level solo: Payton Barnett, Ann Barrios, Alexsandrah Clement, Brooklyn Culpepper, Laci Dunken, Alex Folmar, Elizabeth Frazier, Maryann Lester, Yvete Morales, T.J. Spence, and Emily Williams. Not photographed: Brooklyn Culpepper Middle row Nine students earned a silver medal for receiving a “superior” rating on an intermediate level solo: Shayna Beamon, Jake Freelen, Bonnie Jackson, Allison Langston, Averi McFadden, Sophia Pentland, Yessica Ramirez, Jerimiah Taylor, and Malaree Wise. Back row Eleven students earned a gold medal for receiving a “superior” rating on a difficult level solo to qualify them for the State Solo & Ensemble Contest during the Memorial Day Weekend: Autumn Albertson, Dylan Candelora, Bianey Cortes, Cristian Cortes, Quinn Dillard, Juan Flores, Blaine Grissom, Molly Jackson, Deja Sikes, and Jacaela Yates.
