Our school Book Fair will be held, November 30th, 9am-4pm & 5pm-8:30pm, December 1st, 9am-4pm-13, and December 2nd, 9am-12pm. 19 volunteers are needed to help with purchases during the Book Fair. SCHOOL CLOSINGS Please sign up at clickondetroit.com for email/text alerts when Cornerstone Christian School is closed. Our school Spelling Bee will be held Wednesday, November 9th. Practice spelling words were sent home last week with your child. Please encourage them to practice their words. Please do not send your child to school if they have any of the above symptoms. Our school policy is that your child be free of all symptoms for 24 hours. We do not want to expose healthy children to illness. 12 volunteers are needed to help that day. CCS Aucon The CCS auc on team is in need of someone to fill the posi on of media and prin ng coordinator. This person would put together a slideshow for the ministry moment with photos from last year's auc on. They would work closely with the acquisi on and corporate sponsor team members to print and display signs for the night of the auc on. The auc on team is also looking for an auc on night back room coordinator. This person would work with Laura Valen ne and would assemble and secure a team of back room volunteers for auc on night! If you are able to fill these posi ons, or are able to join the auc on team in any way, please contact one of the event coordinators: Danielle Carroll or Loralee Mills. Auc on night is Friday, March 17th. Save the date!
Easy Volunteer Opportunity Teacher Appreciation Luncheon To show how much we appreciate our school teachers, we, the school families, provide a meal for them once a month. There are several volunteer opportunities with this service. You may provide a course for a meal and / or provide time to oversee a class (1.5 hour commitment) during our celebrations in December and May. Please consider volunteering for this great school ministry. The sign-up sheets are located in the school office. Pull Together for Ronald McDonald House We will be collecting pop tabs & other aluminum tabs throughout the school year. A large collection container will be located near the office. We will deliver all collected tabs to the charity in May.
Police Officer Appreciation Week, Oct 24 - Oct 28 *Mon & Tue the students will be writing letters of appreciation in class to our local Lieutenants, Sergeants, and Troopers, working out of the Brighton post. *Wednesday will be BLUE Day - students will be allowed to come to school dressed ALL in blue, including jeans, in return for a donation that will benefit children who have lost a parent while in the line of duty. *Friday all school assembly @ 2:30 (parents welcome) Police officer(s) will be at the assembly to accept our letters of appreciation and baked goods. They will also be giving a short educational talk. *If you want to donate baked goods, please bring them Friday morning, October 28th. A cart will be by the office.
Jeans Collection for the Casa Bernabe Orphanage in Guatemala Please donate your gently used jeans: Sizes: toddler, youth, and teen jeans. Collection dates: November 1st - December 10th A collection tub will be by school uniform cabinets collection week.
Operation Christmas It’s not too early to be collecting items for your Operation Christmas Child box. We will be collecting boxes Nov 7th-11th
Lunch Time The Friday pizza program must be prepaid. You will not be able to pay for pizza the day it is being served because orders are called in 2 days before. If your child is absent on the day you have paid for, all monies will be donated to the school. Milk/water will be available for purchase daily for 40 cents. Lunch order forms are available on the kiosk outside the office door or on-line. Those making donations for October 21st: Dessert-Cullen Fruit/Vegetable-Kaczmarek Please provide for 95. Thank you!
