[email protected] HEADTEACHER’S MESSAGE The true.” Welcome back from the half term holiday, I hope everyone enjoyed the Autumn colours and remembered to alter the clocks. Before the holidays we awarded every child who had 95%+ attendance, a silver leaf on our Attendance tree and every child with 100% attendance a gold leaf. Please have a look at the tree at the top of the steps by 3B for your child’s name and for weekly attendance scores. We had 141 gold leaves and 60 silver leaves awarded, making a total of 201 leaves out of 233 children. Well done to those children, every day at school counts. I am pleased to welcome our new Assistant Head Teacher, Mrs Amy Pickin, to Westfield Junior School. Mrs Pickin will be our SENCO and Maths Leader in school working alongside myself and Miss Swallow as Senior Leadership. She will be contacting parents of SEN pupils over the next week to book IEP appointments and I know she is looking forward to meeting everyone at Westfield. Sadly, this also means that Mr Knapton–Smith will be leaving us at Christmas. The children and staff have enjoyed getting to know Mr Knapton Smith and will be sad to see him leave. He is working really hard to give the children a good first term in Year 5. Mrs Pickin will take over as class teacher for 5A from January 2017. Mrs Pickin will also be available on Year 5 parents evening and will work with Mr Knapton-Smith to get to know the class over coming weeks.
Christmas Raffle Raffle tickets for the Christmas Fair are being sent home today by pupil post. Please check your child’s bag .

Look out for a leaflet coming home with your child tonight with information about the books and 3 vouchers for money off the books. The fair will be open to visit from 8.30am – 8.45am each morning. The Fair will be delivered on Tuesday 8th November so may not be here for 8.30am, so the first opening will be Wednesday 9th November at 8.30am. This is not a obligation to buy, we just ensure every child has the chance to visit.
