As the season of Advent begins, everyone is busy preparing for Jesus’ Birthday. At home, at work, at school take the time to enjoy the true meaning of the season. All of us at TNS wish you an Advent season filled with preparation for a Blessed Christmas. Brenda Jensen ADVENT is the season of preparation celebrated the four weeks prior to Christmas. The word Advent means “to come”. Although Advent traditions vary, the reason for observing Advent remains the same: to prepare our hearts for welcoming God’s gift of light and love, his son Jesus. PROPHECY CANDLE: Our journey through Advent begins by watching, waiting and preparing for the Christ Child and the hope that He brings for the kind of world we all want to live in. Listen! BETHLEHEM CANDLE: Celebrate with joy the love that God has for each of us. We search for ways to express our joy as we move forward with anticipation to the birth of the Christ Child. We journey toward the manger the joyful celebration. Prepare! Get Ready! SHEPHERD’S CANDLE: This week we will strive to reach out to others in love. This week we will receive and give love faithfully to all of God’s people we can. Behold! To see! Everyone is welcome! ANGELS’ CANDLE: In the last week before the blessed event we search our hearts and pray for peace. Rejoice! Proclaim peace and joy! CHRIST CANDLE: Our Advent journey ends at the manger of the Christ Child, the Prince of Peace. Our journey asks us to think of all of the places in our lives, our families, our congregations, our community and in our world where we truly need the Prince of Peace.

Great Gift Idea Hot off the Press Trinity Nursery School is selling notecards designed by some of our students. There are 8 card designs. The note cards come in packages of 16 and they are being sold for $10 per pack (3/$25). Notecards will be sold at the SCRIP Dollars table in the Narthex during December. They are also available any time in the TNS office.
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY TNS will not hold classes if the Owatonna Public Schools are cancelled due to poor weather conditions. Listen to KRFO, 1390 AM or KOWZ, 100.9 FM for information about closings. There will NOT be morning classes if there is a 2-hour weather-related late start at the public schools.
Please remind your child’s driver (carpools, too) to make sure all students have their outer clothes off and properly hung up and their shoes on before they say their good byes.
Please remember to hang your outdoor snow clothes on our child’s hook. Separating your snow clothes bag from your school bag helps us in many ways: • Children are able to locate their outerwear on their own when getting ready to go outside—developing independence and self-help skills. • School bags and their contents do not get wet from melting snow— developing pride and confidence in a job well done and helping home/school communication be delivered successfully. • School bags fit in the designated basket—helping to keep the hallways safe and free of extra obstacles.
