4 - 10 May 2015 The Red Shield Appeal happens every year because hope isn’t part of everybody’s story. And we’re passionate about changing that. Help write chapters of hope into the story of your community. Be part of something that’s bigger than yourself. Bigger than fear or failure. Bigger than "you can’t do it" or "you're not good enough". Be part of a drought-breaking rain of hope that soaks the places that need it most… your postcode, your city, your neighbours, your loved ones. Possibility and a future is something we want for everyone – no exceptions. So join our army of hope and give what you can to see our movement thrive as it continues to meet the needs of Kiwis all over New Zealand. Please speak to Majors Stephen or Denise Crump if you would like to volunteer your time - because we

can’t do it without you.

Dear Friends and family Do you remember watching "The Lion King"? An animated feature following the adventures of the young lion Simba, the heir of his father Mufasa. Simba's wicked Uncle Scar, plots to overthrow the throne, luring father and son into a stampede of wildebeasts Simba escapes but uncle Scar convinces him he is to blame for his dad's death. Simba is convinced he cannot return home and wanders in isolation until he meets Timon and Pumbaa - riveting isn't it? Well Timon and Pumbaa introduce Simba to their theme song ‘Hakuna Matata’ No worries ... a problem free philosophy. Today we are not thinking about the lion king but rather an account of Jesus appearing to the Disciples after the resurrection, the disciples were feeling isolated and afraid. Jesus came along side them and said "peace be with you". Matthew 6:25 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry…” Hakuna Matata. Have a great week

Thank you to our many financial supporters who contribute to our local situation. We would not be able to do all that we do, without your assistance. Receipts have been prepared but cannot be released until Divisional Headquarters are satisfied that our figures balance. Hopefully this will be in the near future. The amount of Tax that you will be able to claim back, is in excess of $50,000 (no, not each person). God bless successive Governments for this initiative. If you would like to start being part of this system where your donations are recorded and an annual receipt is issued for tax purposes, please see myself. Again, thank you to those who see this as God honouring and simply 'sharing the load.'
