Nexoforge Logo Design Package High Level concepts to consider: - Our first product is (a slightly modified version of) the image you see below, a rugged industrial grade fanless embedded system. This description, and the following words, are the core message that we are trying to portray through our company and by extension our logo. Picture of the product (in its previous version - now known as the NXF 2100-IGN) Words that we want to come to mind when thinking about our company / product: - Rugged - Industrial - Reliable - Robust - Scalable - Seamless - Solution The logo itself is intended to be displayed on light backgrounds (white paper, white web pages, and silver metal) as well as displayed on dark backgrounds. If the same logo can be displayed well on multiple coloured backgrounds, that’s great. If not, we need to consider a dark version and a light version. As our product/logo will likely be seen only briefly in normal use it is important that the colours/shapes/symbols used will quickly identify our brand, even if only glimpsed for a short time. The following lists when / where it will most likely be seen: - Trade shows and advertisements - Our website (to view / purchase) - Initial Installation - Routine Maintenance Both installation and maintenance will be little more than a quick glance at the device when it is mounted next to a series of other devices.
The pictures that follow are similar brands that come to mind. Not necessarily “competitors”, but other brands in a similar space. Most of them are pretty good examples of using light and dark logos as well as matching logo “style” to product “style” (colour mostly). Siemens: https://www.siemens.com/global/en/home.html
(Brands not really associated with “product”, but still a good example of an “industrial” logo)
We also had a discussion about font and how we would like to use it, but decided that you are the expert here. Some thoughts we had that you may be interested in: - Sans Serif seems to be the industrial standard - More often than not a sharp-edged font or blocky font was used - We are open to ALL CAPS, Some Caps, or lowercase. Any of them can look good. - The “innovators of the future” have sometimes used letters with parts missing to great effect. See the pictures below.
