Norway How does Norway contribute to the ISS? Norway is part of the European Space Agency (ESA). There are many countries that help contribute. As a whole, the ESA has contributed various components of the ISS such as the Columbus Lab, ATV, Robotic Arm, Data Management System, Harmony Node, Tranquility Node, Cupola Observation module. In terms of money, the European share, at around €8 billion spread over the whole program, amounts to just one Euro (their currency) spent by every European every year: less than the price of a cup of coffee.

Norwegian Astronauts that have served aboard the ISS NONE! It is a disgrace. The closest connection to Norway has been Christer Fuglesang. His dad was Norwegian but his mom was Swedish and he was born in Sweden.

How does research and technology aboard the International Space Station improve the life of people on Earth? We have learned a lot about bone density loss (osteoporosis) from astronauts living in space and finding ways to combat it. This is especially common in older women. Other inventions that were designed for space travel and exploration have been repurposed on Earth. These include things like memory foam, cochlear (hearing-loss) implants, scratch-resistant glasses, etc.
