Bethany/Bethabara, beyond the Jordan – John 1:19-42 o John the Baptist witnesses/testifies to the Delegation from Jerusalem o John the Baptist ‘encourages’ two of his disciples to follow Jesus o John the Apostle and Andrew become the first followers of Christ o Andrew gets his brother Simon (Cephas/Peter) but Peter isn’t ready to follow Christ, just yet Bethsaida, northeast shore of the Sea of Galilee – John 1:43-51 o Jesus finds Philip who quickly becomes a follower of Christ and who excitedly invites Nathanael to “Come & See” o Nathanael is a skeptic at first but quickly becomes the 1st Disciple to BELIEVE IN & to DECLARE that JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD, THE KING OF ISRAEL, THE CHRIST!
