The touchdown was Jackson’s 38th career rushing touchdown and 39th overall. Jackson tied Damien Anderson’s school record for rushing touchdowns and broke Anderson’s record for total touchdowns on the play. ○ Jackson surpassed 100 yards rushing for the 24th time in his career and the 17th time versus a Big Ten opponent. Junior quarterback Clayton Thorson b ecame the program’s alltime leader in victories with the 23rd of his career in his 35th career start. ○ Thorson completed 19of35 passes for 243 yards and rushed for two touchdowns. ○ With two rushing touchdowns, Thorson is now just one rushing touchdown shy of Brett Basanez (18; 200205) for third in program history for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback; 15 of Thorson’s 17 career rushing touchdowns have come in Northwestern victories. The Wildcats are now 122 when Thorson rushes for a score. ○ Thorson has a careerhigh seven rushing touchdowns in 2017. This is the third time in Thorson’s career he has rushed for two touchdowns. ○ Thorson has thrown for 200plus yards 16 times in his career. ○ With 243 passing yards, Thorson is just nine yards shy of becoming the fourth player in program history with 7,000 career passing yards. ○ With 19 completions, Thorson now has 640 in his career; He is four shy of tying Len Williams (644; 199093) for third in program history. ○ Thorson is 65 yards shy of C.J. Defensive/Special Teams Notes ● Senior safety Kyle Queiro recorded his second interception of the season and the fifth of his career in the first quarter. ○ Queiro’s first interception of 2017 came in the season opener versus Nevada. ○ The senior picked off his second pass of the game in the second quarter, becoming the first Wildcat since Montre Hartage versus Purdue on Nov. 12, 2016 to record two interceptions in a game. . ○ Queiro also finished with a careerhigh three pass breakups, including one in overtime that sealed the game. ● Redshirt firstyear wide receiver Riley Lees had a seasonlong 36yard kick return in the first quarter. ● Firstyear kicker Charlie Kuhbander made a 24yard field goal in the second quarter to give the Wildcats a 1714 lead. The field was the ninthconsecutive field goal made by Kuhbander. ○ Kuhbander missed a 44yard field goal at the end of the first half, snapping his streak of nine consecutive field goals made. ● Redshirt firstyear linebacker Paddy Fisher has posted backtoback games with doubledigit tackles for the first time in his career. ○ Fisher finished with 13 tackles (6 solo), including one for loss. ○ He has 32 tackles over his last two games and 41 over the last three. ● Senior linebacker Brett Walsh had a career high 12 tackles. ○ Walsh also had a careerhigh nine assisted tackles. ● Senior safety Godwin Igwebuike recorded his second interception of the season and seventh of his career. ○ Igwebuike is the active NU leader with seven interceptions, just one shy of cracking the program’s top10 list. ○ The senior also finished with nine tackles, including seven of the solo fashion. ● Firstyear defensive end Samdup Miller had a seasonhigh five tackles and recorded the team’s only sack of the game with a 10yard loss in overtime. ○ Miller is second on the team with four sacks. Nebraska elected to receive and defend the north goal line. ● The Wildcats and Cornhuskers met for the 11th time in program history; The ’Cats improved to 47 versus Nebraska and have won two of the last three meetings. ● Northwestern scored a touchdown on its opening drive for the first time this season; The Wildcats only other score on its opening drive in a game this season came on a field goal versus Wisconsin on Sept. 30. ● The defense held Nebraska scoreless in the fourth quarter and overtime. The Wildcats have allowed just 13 points in the fourth quarter of their six wins this seasons. ● NU finished the game with 232 yards rushing on 45 attempts; This is the third time this season the ’Cats have rushed over 200 yards and the first time since 238 at Maryland On Oct. 14. ● The Wildcats did not give up a sack for the first time this season. Since giving up 12 sacks (8 vs. Wisconsin/4 vs. Penn State) in backtoback losses, the Wildcats have given up just five sacks during their fourgame winning streak. ● Attendance: 89,721
