Opportunities abound!

Tuesday afternoon as I left the building there were two ten or eleven year old boys on the parking lot. One was on his bike, the other had a two-wheeled scooter and of course they were both on their cell phones! (Never had one of those when I was a kid. Of course there weren’t any!) As I pulled out of the lot I stopped and said, “You guys live around here?” They thought they were in trouble, so one quickly said, “Yeah, I live right over that way and he lives over that way.” I said, “Great! I just wanted to let you know that we’re starting archery at the end of the month.” Their eyes got big and one said, “Yeah, my dad and I do that.” The other looked at him and said, “We gotta do that!” I told them to tell their friends. I’ve told several other children and they all have responded the same. I think we have the potential for a lot of boys and girls coming to this. It’s going to give us the opportunity to share Jesus with them because there will be Bible lessons and shooting. They earn points by marksmanship, memorizing scripture and bringing friends. I am now the Campus Ministry Lead for International Students Inc. on the ICC campus. Sounds great I know, but not sure all that I’m doing yet. This is a volunteer position but is giving me the opportunity to get involved on campus. My wife, Cindy and the Besslers are approved volunteers and the Stones are in process. If you would like to be involved, let me know. We especially need volunteers during work hours, so if you’re retired or your schedule allows, you can touch the lives of internationals for Jesus. Our prayer is that we can lead them to and disciple them in a relationship with Jesus and then when they return to their countries they will spread the Good News there! This Saturday is the Clothing Closet and many people will be in our sanctuary getting free stuff. Why not come out and help or just hang out and talk to people that come. If you’re prayed up and listening to the Holy Spirit, miracles can happen! You’re invited to help organize and set up tonight (Wednesday) and again on Friday evening. Great fellowship takes place around these kinds of projects as well. Maybe you’ll make a new friend IN THE CHURCH!

October is all about missions. Be sure and remember that every Sunday of the month we will be have missionaries sharing from 9:00-10:00 A.M. prior to the worship service. Come and get to know them and get a feel for how we are helping reach people through their ministries. A very special treat is on October 7, 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. The Unleashed Conference presented by Rob Wilson, director of Kingdom Life University. I think you’ll enjoy both the information and the presentation of these materials that will help you gain a deeper walk with Jesus. Opportunities abound. Why not take advantage of them. I’m sure you will be blessed if you do. It’s a great time to invite someone to come with you. God is moving. Be sure you’re involved! I love you, Highview. Pastor Brent
