You can help determine what your/our City will be like!
How? You can be part of the new Uintah City General Plan! What is a “General Plan?”
A General
Plan is a document that helps decision makers in the City insure that what the
residents want in the City is included and what is not wanted is kept out so that the City will be like you want it to be. To find out what you and your neighbors envision your City to be, a team of seniors from the University of Utah with majors in City planning are inviting all share our stories and what we value in our community. Please be aware and support their efforts in the following ways. 1. Go to the Listening to Uintah web-site https://listeningtouintah.squarespace.com/. Here is where you can, first hand, make your thoughts and desires for the City be known, with a survey and comments. You can also get acquainted with this impressive team of students. rd
2. 3 Annual Fall Cook-off Extravaganza at the City Park October 21st at 5:30 PM. This is a community activity sponsored by the Uintah 1st Ward. You can meet the team in person, get to know them and personally let them know you thoughts about the City and what you would like it to be. You can 1. Bring your favorite chili, soup or dessert and enter the competition, 2. Come eat and see what food you like best and meet the team OR 3. You can just stop by and meet the team. It’s up to you which but don’t miss the opportunity. If you want to enter the competition Rick or Suzie Kendell would like to know. Call them at 801 589 1900. 3. Carnival sponsored by the Uintah 2
nd
Ward.
4. The Halloween Truck or Treat at the City Park. 5. At your door. You may get a personal visit. The team will visit a selected
few in the City including families that may not access to the Listening to Uintah web-site. Please welcome them in and let them know your desires for the City. 6. Written Survey: Anything and everything you say or share will be anonymous and held in strict confidence.
Why? This is a first step in creating a new Uintah City General Plan that will guide the present and future Planning Commissions and City Councils in making decisions that are in accord with your and your neighbor’s thoughts. Without a written General Plan stating what the City wants it will be easy for others (including State and Federal government) to get what they want.
