PHS homecoming events kick into high gear Monday Homecoming is an exciting time of school spirit and fun for the Paris Wildcats. Please help celebrate Homecoming Spirit Week: "Wildcats in Wonderland." Monday is “We’re All Mad Here” and students wear hats for Mad Hatter Hat Day. On “Tweedle Tuesday,” students dress like a twin or like Tweedledum and Tweedledee. Favorite Walt Disney characters will be the dress on “Walt Disney Wednesday.” Then Thursday, it’s “Do You Suppose She’s a Wildflower?” so dress in late 60’s to early 70’s Flower Power! Friday, students will show they are “Wildcats in Wonderland” and dress in spirit shirts. Nominees for Paris High Homecoming Queen are (from left) Jasmine The Distinguished Graduate Awards will Gill, Allie Beth Gottshalk, Tieren Gates, Makayla Brown, and Dextiny be presented in the PHS Commons Area Patrick. King nominees are JT Robinson, Dixon Grossnickle, Corion Hill, Adryan McGuire, and Ja’Kerion Brown. They will be presented at 1:30 p.m. on Friday followed by a viewing of the Wall of Honor. Awardees at the Sept. 16 pep rally and the king will be announced. The queen include Dr. Larry “T-Byrd” Gordon/ will be crowned at 7 p.m. that evening prior to the football game vs. Posthumous (Class of 1967), Thomas S. Pittsburg. Moore (Class of 1958), Lewis “Jackrabbit” Smith (Gibbons High School Class of 1941), and Dr. Charles Sterling (Class of 1963). The 2016 Homecoming Queen and King nominees will be introduced during the pep rally which begins Friday at 3 p.m. in the PHS gymnasium. Queen nominees are Makayla Brown, Tieren Gates, Jasmine Gill, Allie Beth Gottshalk, and Dextiny Patrick. King nominees are Ja’Kerion Brown, Dixon Grossnickle, Corion Hill, Adryan McGuire, and JT Robinson. The 2016 Homecoming King will be announced during the pep rally and the Queen will be announced in pregame ceremonies at 7 p.m.. The parade follows the pep rally and the route begins downtown in Market Square at 4 p.m. Extra vehicles will not be allowed to park near the Farmers Market staging area. The procession will turn east onto West Sherman, then north on South Main, east on Clarksville Street, north on 3rd SE (in front of First United Methodist Church) for one block, west on Lamar Avenue to the west side of downtown plaza, south on 1st SW and return to the Farmers Market area. To enter the parade, contact Student Council Sponsor Danielle Chesshire at [email protected] by noon Tuesday, Sept. 13 for parade instructions. Later that evening, PHS hosts Pittsburg for the homecoming game. Special game night activities include:
