PINTO SCHEDULE 2017 Note: Times given are approximate only Tuesday 7th March 2017 Start 8.30am – Polo Grounds, Hawkes Bay Show Grounds Please read these conditions carefully. You must read all the HOY Regulations & Conditions of entry and abide by them. It is the responsibility of the Rider/Handler/Person Responsible to know the rules of the class in which they are competing
Conditions 1.
Classes are for Pinto coloured horses only. Horses MUST be registered & the owner a current financial member of the NZ Pinto Horse Society Inc
2.
Breastplate number holders or armbands are compulsory and the competitor is responsible for making the number. Only large black numbers on a white background are acceptable. No other colour combinations or formats are acceptable
3.
HEIGHT CERTIFICATES - Royal Agriculture Society of NZ (RAS) current Annual or Life Height Certificates or Horse/Pony Identification (ID) forms (RAS Certificate). RAS Certificates must be carried at all times by the rider/handler and be presented upon request to an official Ridden and Led Adult Pinto horses 3 years & over, and ALL Pinto Ponies MUST have a current RAS Certificate for the 2016/2017 Show Season Led Youngstock Horses (3 years & under, to mature over 148cm) do not require them

QUALIFICATION - Horses MUST be registered & the owner a current financial member of the NZ Pinto Horse Soc. at date of win, otherwise win does not count. All horses (excluding foals) entering the Title classes must have won a Champion Pinto or two Reserve Champion Pinto at a Qualification show between 1st March 2016 & 26th February 2017 i.e. you must have won one Champion or two Reserve Champion Inhand Pinto to enter the Inhand Title class and one Champion or two Reserve Champion OPEN Ridden Pinto to enter the Ridden Title class. All other Pinto classes do NOT require qualification Qualifying Shows are ALL RAS affiliated shows, NZ National Showcase Championships and North & South Island Pinto Shows (excluding HOY 2016 & Auckland Easter show) in the Pinto section The current HOY 2016 Pinto title winners do not require qualification for the title class they won i.e. the Inhand Show Horse title winner does not need to qualify for the Inhand Show Horse title class but would need to qualify for the Ridden Show Horse class if entering. Please note: if a 3 year old won the Youngstock title class they would need to qualify for the Adult title class

ATTENDANCE - All horses (excluding foals) and including the 2016 Pinto title winners entering the Pinto classes MUST have competed at a minimum of two (2) RAS qualifying shows (excluding HOY 2016 & Auckland Easter show) in a Pinto section between 1st March 2016 & 26th February 2017

The Pinto section Qualification form (Certificate of Qualification) is to be completed & sent to the NZ Pinto Society Secretary by 4pm 27th February 2017. The form also available at www.nzpinto.com

Novice Pony/Horse has not won 6 or more 1st in a Ridden conformation class or Best Registered Ridden Pinto class by 26th February 2017
8.
Open Ponies can only be ridden by riders 17 years and under. Adults can ride Novice Ponies in Best Presented, Rider and Novice classes only. Competitors riding a pony must be in child’s attire – no long boots, chaps or gaiters

Definitions Show Horse Should show quality, elegance and very good paces. Be well mannered without a loss of natural exuberance and be capable of giving a rider a pleasant easy ride Saddle Hunter Should have substance, be active and well-mannered with strong easy paces. Must be capable of carrying weight for long distances over varied country. Must have excellent galloping paces
