DESCRIPTION The Placerville Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Cadet. This position is for young men and women who are at least 14 years old (and have completed the 8th grade) or 15 years of age but not yet 21 years old who are interested in law enforcement and serving their community. Cadets work special functions as well as learn about law enforcement, traffic control, first aid and other related duties of a police officer. Cadets also participate in cadet competitions, ride-a-longs with officers, biweekly training. Under the supervision of a sworn police officer cadets also work foot and bike patrol.

It will be reviewed as a part of your background investigation to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications to become a Placerville Police Cadet. This review process may take several weeks. Untruthful information on this application automatically disqualifies you for the Placerville Police Cadets.

We require references for our applicants to help ensure we are welcoming in persons of good moral and ethical character that will complement our program. Persons applying for the position of Police Cadet MUST attach at least two letters of reference. Only one reference may be a family member.
