Research Status When your character enters the Mothership, the Research Status screen appears. By dropping the required materials into the Mothership from this screen, you craft new items. In this example, if you use 10 Yellow Ores you can craft one Rare Metal Crystal. If you use 10 Blue Ores, an Iron Plate can be crafted. These two ores are important materials, required for crafting most advanced items.

Example: Blaster R&D Though you start the game with the standard Beamgun, you can also craft a Blaster grenade, which has extra explosive power and will speed your progress!

BLASTER (it’s a grenade) © 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Artifacts: Blaster R&D To research the Blaster, you’ll need to collect at least 1 Artifact, 10 Rare Metal Crystals, and 20 Iron Plates, and then bring them back to your Mothership. Artifacts are mysterious objects made out of a blue, lightweight material. Artifacts appear in small numbers when Fortresses are destroyed. There is a Fortress located to the north of each starting point.

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Crafting: Blaster R&D Actually crafting a Blaster requires one Iron Plate, one Rare Metal Crystal, and 100 Jolts. With a Beam Gun and Blaster equipped, you’ll be able to blast right through the beginning stages of each Project!

Now you’re ready to craft a Blaster!

Target: Fortresses

Above is a Single-Eye Fortress; at 20 hit points, it’s the weakest type.

Destroying a Single-Eye Fortress will drop tons of Iron Plates and Rare Metal Crystals, and it produces an Artifact.

Target: Milestones

Each project has a total of 200 Milestones.

Milestones appear as blue flags, and you’ll unlock the Milestone as soon as you touch it. A Project is completed when you collect a total of 200 Milestones. A green arrow points you in the direction of the next Milestone you need to collect.

Items © 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Weapons Beamguns are the basic weapons in Space Sweeper. A Beamgun can increase in level from 1 to 4. The higher the level, the more powerful the gun… and the more energy the beam consumes. WARNING: A Beamgun can be damaged after several thousand shots, so you’ll need to be ready to craft a new one.

The Blaster is a grenade that can be thrown over barricades. It explodes where it lands, dealing heavy damage to enemies or walls. Using a Blaster is the best way to destroy a Fortress.

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Tools A Shovel can dig into the earth to remove weeds or offending rocks. To use, equip your Shovel in your inventory, and push it against the surface. Level 1 Batteries are green, while higher-capacity Level 2 Batteries are yellow and larger. Carrying multiple batteries increases overall capacity. When an Accelerator is equipped, your Beamgun’s shot speed increases dramatically. You’ll find this comes in handy later in the game!

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Healing and Protection The Shield absorbs damage, but it can’t recharge. These are very useful in the later rounds of the game! When an HP Potion is used, your health is fully restored. If an HP Potion is equipped, it automatically restores your health when your hit points drop below 50%. A Healing Blaster is an advanced way to recover health. Healing Blasters creates a cloud of gas that recovers your health, and that of other players.

HP POTION

Construction Place Bricks to create roads. Bricks can also be used to make bridges, if you want to cross a river or canal.

In some areas, Energium Ore is exposed on the ground. Place a Reactor next to it, and you’ll automatically replenish your energy nearby.

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Powering Structures Once you’re generating electricity with a Reactor, you can build a Power Pole to carry it to further distances. Reactors can be placed in areas with this white pattern.

However, these require careful attention, since Power Poles can break when attacked by enemies! You can also transmit electrical power from your Mothership with a Power Pole. Your Mothership can generate much more electricity than a reactor. © 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Advanced Construction Create an Item Teleporter, and you can send almost any item to a faraway area, except for empty weapons. To activate an Item Teleporter, place a Power Pole nearby and supply it with power. A Human Teleporter can also be created. Connect this device to a Power Pole, but note that human teleportation consumes enormous amounts of power. A Beam Battery will automatically attack nearby enemies. Be careful though, because they can destroy it!

Build a Steel Fence to keep enemies out.

Seeds and Plants You can use seeds to create plants and other types of foliage.

Yellow Seeds can grow grass. You move faster on grassy surfaces.

Blue Seeds will grow trees. Trees can produce fruit, which is effective for recovering HP.

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Building with Debris When terrain blocks are destroyed, debris is created, and you can obtain a variety of resources.

Below is chunk of Soil Debris. This can be used to build a number of useful structures.

Soil Debris can be placed on the water to make a pathway.

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Soil walls can protect against enemy attacks. Reinforcing against enemy attacks is critical from the very beginning of the game.

Rocks and Trees Rock Debris can be used to make solid walls that are stronger than soil. Note that this material is more rare than soil.

Hard Rock Debris is even stronger than Rock Debris, but it is rarer still.

When a tree becomes ripe, you can shoot it to harvest Fruit. This works as an HP potion.

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Defeated enemies can drop various rare resources.

This is an Artifact. It appears when Fortresses are destroyed. Use these for research and crafting.

This is a Cell Tissue. It may appear when organic enemies are defeated. Use these for research or crafting HP Potions.

This is an Electricity Particle. Don’t worry, they’re safe to touch!

Advanced Resources

Hyper Particles look like sparks of flame. They appear when a red Hyper Generator is destroyed. Use these for research. Hyper Generators require careful attention because of how reinforced they are. Use these for research on stronger equipment.

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

This is a Dark Matter Particle, dropped by a Core. It is required for researching the most powerful equipment.

Mobs

Worms are spawned from red cells on the ground. Red Worms shoot poison.

Giant Flies are spawned from honeycombs that appear on the map.

Falcons make deadwood nests in tundra areas. They release invincible tornados that chase after the player.

Ice Slimes, found in the tundra, can create snowballs. Snowballs pile up when they hit a wall. Take care!

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Fire Copters live inside volcanoes, and they slowly approach while creating rolling fireballs. These enemies are dangerous in groups.

Mobs (continued)

Shrimp emerge from watery nests in the jungle and attack with claws. A Beamgun won’t hit them when they’re submerged in water, and they’re hard to see. Don’t get surrounded!

In the jungle, you’ll frequently encounter Bee Nests. You’re safe as long as you don’t provoke them – but if struck with the Beamgun, swarms of bees will emerge from within!

Blue Flowers bloom in the jungle. They will sprinkle seeds and block the way when shot with a Beamgun.

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

This is a Mohlee, which shoots a massive salvo of missiles when it has you in its sights. ProTip: Don’t die!

Enemy Bots This is a Repairer. Once an enemy building is destroyed, its foundation will remain, as shown below.

A Builder can emerge from a Fortress to build a new enemy building. Destroy them as quickly as possible before they flood the map!

A Repairer approaches the remaining foundation and regenerates a new building.

The Small Battery shoots slow bullets and is easy to destroy.

Foundations can be completely destroyed by using a Blaster.

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Enemy Structures Enemy Resource Crates can be broken to obtain resources like Iron Ore.

When destroyed, Enemy Hangars will release the mobs that are waiting inside.

Barriers can be deactivated when their Hubs are destroyed.

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Enemy Defenses Barriers are dangerous, but they can be locked in place by positioning blocks around them. It’s best to destroy them completely.

Enemy Fortresses can have special tiles called Eyes. Bullets, mobs, or even worse can emerge from these.

Single Eye: Quad Eye: Shoots a Shoots single bullet. bullets in a fan shape.

Missile Eye: Shoots missiles in a fan shape.

Protector Eye: Shoots a defensive, spinning solid bullet.

Chaser Eye: Builder Eye: Spawns Spawns a mobs to Builder. chase the player.

Enemy Defenses (cont’d)

Fortress Tower. Does not attack, but is reinforced and protects against Eyes. You can throw Blasters over Fortress Towers to directly damage an Eye.

Pair Barrier. Serves as dungeon gates. Deactivates for a certain period of time after being shot.

Hyper Generator. Can make surrounding enemy mobs significantly stronger. Well reinforced and able to expand its range over time.

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Beam Battery. Many of these are in dungeons and cannot be destroyed. However, they are expendable over a certain amount of time.

Attacking the Core This is the Core. It is hidden inside a Dungeon. If you remove the Core’s lid, a Core Ball will emerge and attempt to stop you (via bullets).

Biomes and Environment

You will find a total of four biomes: • Valley • Tundra • Jungle • Volcano You’ll also find Dungeons inside these biomes.

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Biomes: Valley

The Valley biome features large bodies of water. Water can be covered with a block of Soil Debris, allowing you to create land bridges. Red Cells are everywhere, and they will regularly spawn Worms. Though Giant Flies are easily destroyed, it is best to target their nests first.

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Biomes: Tundra

The Tundra biome is a world of snow and ice. Note that both snow and ice can be melted with the Beamgun; however, snow is constantly falling and accumulating. It is tricky to battle Ice Slimes, which shoot snowballs – so destroy their nests first!

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Biomes: Jungle

The Jungle biome hosts a number of enemies. The Shrimp, which attacks with claws, is especially dangerous. Shrimp nests are underwater and cannot be destroyed with the regular Beamgun – you may find yourself running out of Blasters.

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Biomes: Volcano

The Volcano biome has copious amounts of fire and magma erupting from the ground. Volcano eruptions can’t be stopped – stay away from the craters and plan a safe route around!

© 2014, 2015 Shinra Technologies, Inc.

Environments: Dungeon

You’ll find a number of Dungeon mazes, populated with multiple Fortresses protecting a Core. Dungeons are packed with enemies, and success will require enormous amounts of power and resources. To defeat a Core, the player needs to come prepared with energy sources… not to mention friends who can help out!
