Play 4 rounds of 1 min. with 30 sec. rest in between. Gates Passing- Set up several gates (at least 2 more than the amount of players). Group all players into pairs. 1 ball per group. To score one partner must pass a ball between the gate to the other partner. Keep track of points! Activity 2 Coach: Players count how many points they score in a minute. Repeat & ask players to improve score each round. Variation: 1)Require the pass be with a certain surface (laces, outside, inside). 2) Require the players to only use Left or Right foot. 3) Coach can move around & guard certain gates.

3v2 to 4 goals- Each team defends & attacks 2 goals. The team of 3 has a numbers advantage & should make correct decision to DRIBBLE, PASS, or SHOOT. If the team of 2 defends one of the goals, the team of 3 should quickly look to pass ball to attack the Activity 3 other goal. Play 4 rounds of 5 minutes each. Each round the teams should rotate who has 3 & who has 2. Play 10-15 min. 4v4 to Goal-Coach serves the ball in from the sideline. Each team has 3 players on the field, with 1 GK, playing 4v4. The game ends when a player scores on the GK. Extra players rotate in once the game ends. -Goal keepers goal is to make as many saves as possible and distribute. Activity 4 *DON'T ALLOW Players to tackle the Goalkeepers, this will encourage the goalkeepers to make good decisions with the ball. Coach the goalkeepers & field players to find space to build play from the back (instead of just punting and losing possession). Match

Play 4v4, 5v5 (with GK), or 6v6 (with GK) for 15 minutes.

6 Coaching Points

Coach-What surface should the player use when dribbling the ball? Player-The laces. C-What part of the foot do you use to stop the ball? P-Inside, outside, and the bottom (easiest way to stop the ball). C-How do you choose which gate to go to next? P- The person who passed the ball should quickly locate & run to the next open gate & tell the other player where it is. The player receiving the ball should take their first touch towards the next open gate. 1-Attacking team should look to create height, width, & depth with their shape. 2-Players should use the combination skills from the BOX DRIBBLING & COMBINATION activity. 3-When the deepest players have the ball, the players without the ball should get in wide positions as this will cause the 2 defenders to choose between defending the dribble or the pass (they can't defend all 3 options!). 4-If one goal is being defended, the attacking players should immediately switch the point of attack to the other goal.

C-When is it a good time to try and score? P-Any time you see an open goal. C-Can GK's be an option for a pass? P-Yes, they can relieve pressure for the team in possession.

Go over restarts (kick-off, goal kicks, throw-ins). Be careful of coaching (speaking) too much. Try to only coach in natural stoppages (When the ball is out of bounce, after a goal, etc).
