PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING CICELY ARCHER ON THE OCCASION OF HER NINETIETH BIRTHDAY This proclamation recognizes Cicely Archer, a twenty-eight-year resident of the City of Hyattsville who recently has celebrated ninety years of life among family, friends, and our community. WHEREAS, Cicely Archer was honored and celebrated by family and friends in late July of this year on the occasion of her ninetieth birthday; WHEREAS, she emigrated from Georgetown, Guyana and has made the Hyattsville community her home for the past twenty-eight years; WHEREAS, she is a proud mother to five: Marion, Philip, Sharon, Sandra, and Randy; in addition to being a grandmother to thirteen grandchildren and a great-grandmother to thirteen greatgrandchildren; WHEREAS, she is a member of St. Michael & All Angels Church in Adelphi, Maryland; WHEREAS, she is also an avid reader and passionate crossword puzzle player, a zealous watcher of many sports—including tennis, soccer, basketball, and football—and a devoted fan of the Washington Redskins. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Hyattsville recognizes Cicely Archer on the occasion of her ninetieth birthday, with sincere congratulations and best wishes for many more years of a life filled with love.
