A Note from Sheryll All, August 1st, really, how is that possible? This year will be over before we know it! I have started making Christmas presents already, have you??? There are only 146 days to go!! We still have a couple of openings for Arcade Game, give us a call if you are interested!! The class starts August 13th. If you have not signed up for our Birthday Club please make sure to stop by the shop and fill out a card with your name, address and birthdate! I will start sending out postcards in September for the October birthdays!! Just 3 more months to collect those bonus bucks!! What are bonus bucks??? Well, for each $50.00 you spend at the shop you will receive a bonus buck to use during our Birthday sale in Nov. We will be turning 6 this year. Due to all of my health issues over the last year I didn’t get to celebrate year #5 like I wanted to so all of November we will have a big birthday bash! We have added the new dates for Quilting 101!! If you are interested just give us a call to sign up! Oh my gosh, I think it is officially fall, the quilt shows are starting! Come see us at our first fall show of the year! Health Update: I have started my immunizations and am doing really good! I go in another month and get more shots . Now I know why babies are cranky after getting them. Mom starts her last round of chemo Wednesday!! She will go for CT scan every couple of months for awhile to make sure no more tumors pop up! Dad had to have a couple of stints put in last week. I think we are all fixed now for awhile! Good grief what a year it has been! Thanks to everyone for sticking with us through all of this!!!

Fresh Peach Fritters Ingredients 1 cup flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 TBLs sugar 1/2 tsp cinnamon 2 eggs 1/3 cup milk 1 tablespoon melted butter 1-1/4 cups diced peaches (I used 2 fresh peaches which came to a little over 1 1/4 cups of peaches) Powdered sugar glaze (1 cup powdered sugar, milk, enough to make a drizzling consistency). oil for fryer or deep frying pan Instructions Using a whisk, combine flour, salt, sugar, cinnamon and baking powder. Whisk in eggs, milk and butter. Fold in peaches. Heat oil in fryer or pan to 375 degrees F. With long handled ladle, ladle about 1/4 -1/2 cup batter into hot oil. The batter will sink at first and then rise. Cook for about 2 - 3 minutes, depending on size of fritters. Remove fritters from oil with long-handled tongs. Quickly drain on paper towels or newspaper. Then place fritter in bowl of sugar or glaze fritters. Coat with glaze on both sides!

Arcade Game(48x65): Create playful 3D blocks that you could almost grab! We will be using solids, blenders and small scale prints in light, medium and dark shades from the same color family to make each lively block! The best thing about this quilt is that there are NO Y seams!! So come on and join us for this class. Color Pencil on fabric Come join us for a 1 day class (August 18th at 1:30 or 6:00) to learn the basics of coloring, shading & highlighting with colored pencils on fabric!! We will be working on a fall piece that will look great as a wall hanging or pillow! Reg $5.00 Class $15.00 (includes fabric) just bring your colored pencils! Mystery Quilt 2016 I am looking at different patterns for our new mystery quilt! So stay tuned for updates next month! Oh my gosh, the one I am really interested in is utterly amazing!!! “Then & Now” We did the “Then” double wedding ring in April so now we get to do the “Now” class later this summer. We will wait till later this fall so that you have time to finish your “then” quilt! The “Now” quilt is made by using a “quick curve ruler” Make sure you go ahead and sign up because space is limited!

Rag Quilt Class –Got old jeans??? Well have I got something for you to do with them on We will be making a rag quilt with denim on one side and flannel on the other!! Quilting 101 Classes start Sept. 10th for a series of 6 classes. This is a beginner’s class for people that have sewing experience. Registration fee $5.00 Book: $15.50 (class price), regular price $21.95 Instructor fee, $80.00 (Half due at first class, balance due 2nd class) This class fills up fast please let me know if you are interested so that I can get your name on the list! I must know by August 27th so that I can order your book!!

Open Sewing– Did you know that you are welcome to come and sew at the shop anytime there is not a class scheduled??? Did you know that there is about 60-100 years of quilting experience here at the shop on any given day? Class Policies Class Registration: All classes are filled on a first-come, first serve basis. Classes fill FAST and are limited in size. Registration fee is due at sign up. Phone registrations are welcome with a credit card. Class Refund Policy: We may cancel a class if the minimum number of students is not met seven days before the class begins. If we cancel a class we will gladly refund your money. If you need to cancel or withdraw from a class please let us know as soon as possible so that we will not continue to cut kits for you, no class fee refund will be given if the class has already started. No registration refund will be given, however, will gladly transfer your registration to another upcoming class! General Rules: 1. As a courtesy to others, no babies or children under 8 are allowed. Children over 8 are welcome to attend if they have paid the regular class fee and are accompanied by an adult registered for the same class. 2. Please arrive early for classes, as they will begin on time. 3. Please check each class description for supplies you need to bring or come early and we’ll be happy to assist you with finding what you need (a discount of 20% off will be given on class day only for any purchases)
