Building the Future: Real Estate Lessons from Past and Present March 1-3, 2018 Encore at Wynn Las Vegas The Real Property Law Section is pleased to announce that the 2018 Winter Conference will be in Las Vegas at the Encore Resort. Enjoy five-diamond comfort in a spacious suite and experience Las Vegas entertainment and nightlife like nowhere else. Learn first-hand from the Las Vegas City Manager and the Assistant City Attorney the highs and lows of real estate development in Las Vegas. We’ll look at how limited water and water rights issues have influenced Las Vegas’ growth, and compare water issues in a state with limited water resources to Michigan, where abundant fresh water presents different challenges. And, as the U.S. and Michigan economies continue to grow, with infrastructure issues (both small and large) underway, we’ll examine the intersection of infrastructure issues and property rights. A growing trend in Michigan and other states is the use of receiverships and receiver sales of real property. We’ll discuss how those sales are being used, in what context, and the challenges those sales create. Of course, we’ll have our everpopular review of Michigan legislation and case law. CANCELLATIONS: All cancellations must be received at least 72 business hours before the start of the event and a registrant who does not attend shall be entitled to receive a refund of all but $100 of his or her registration fee and shall be entitled to receive the conference materials.
