Justin McKee's life might seem real complicated to some. In past or present McKee's life includes rancher, rodeo and bull riding announcer, television personality, steer roper and pastor. But keeping the latter in mind, the 45-yearold of Lenapah says his life is real simple. It's not about the microphone or rope he holds, or the cattle he tends to on his and wife Jeannie's ranch in northeastern Oklahoma. McKee believes he's seen God close doors to open others. The church is an example. In October 2010 I lost my job with the PBR, but I had peace. I started Cowboy Capital Fellowship in the old rock gym at Lenapah in January 2011. We meet every Monday night at 7 and serve over 300 people with weekly attendance around 200. It's the biggest church in Nowata County. Most of our ministry is outside of the building. I believe you got to take the church to the people, not just meet in a building and hope they show up. Our work includes a lot of Ranch Cowboy type events with a 5 minute message and prayer. It's really about building friendships and letting people see God is real by watching how we live and where our strength comes from. Church stereotypes are also what we try to tear down. I tell them that we are just real people who serve a real God, who has real answers to life's biggest problems. When I read the Purpose Driven Life, I found out how selfish I was. Everything that is wrong can be traced back to selfishness. Another key to life is to give it away. I just thought I had a good life before. I was hanging out with ALL my rodeo heroes, traveling and making money but I found that real life is putting God first by serving him and other people instead of trying to achieve and accomplish. The last two years I have gained true happiness and contentment that is above and beyond what I could ever expect or imagined. Helping people find who they were created to be by using their God given gifts is the ultimate life experience. Provided by The Oklahoman

THE ARENA MINISTRY
The 2013 Ranch Hand Challenge Champions, Flying H Ranch
THE CHUCKWAGON MINISTRY If the way to a man’s heart is his belly, then our chuck wagon crew will win the heart of every cowboy. Chuck wagons have been a part of the cowboy culture for centuries. Some of the best conversations take place at the wagon and around the fire. We use our chuck wagon to serve and minister to folks that enjoy all things cowboy. 2013 was a great year for CCF and the chuck wagon crew. With the purchase of an 1890’s Studebaker wagon, the chuck wagon team was off to a great start. The wagon can be found at most all CCF events and the coffee is always hot. We have a great group of cooks who love to serve the Lord. We will kick off the 2014 season with an Easter service cowboy style. Breakfast will be cooked on an open fire and church service will follow. More events and dates are to come.
At CCF we believe that our main ministry is in the arena. This is a perfect way for Cowboys to enjoy Christian fellowship in a natural setting that we feel comfortable in. In 2013 we formed an arena committee led by my wife Jamie and I. We started the year off with some super goat roping’s held in the new gym. During the summer months we had a Rodeo Bible Camp and the first of our Ranch Hand Challenge Series. In the fall we also hosted our 1st Annual CCF Youth Rodeo and a Team Doctoring at the Dalton Defender Day’s. We feel that these were very successful and plan to continue some similar events in 2014. We are in the early stages of planning for 2014 and will be announcing upcoming events soon. If you have any ideas for any events you would like to see in the future or want to know how to get more involved in this growing ministry, please contact me. Luke Carr

Future plans for CCF include preparing for an arena of our own. If you would like to help with this project, please see Justin.

SOMETHING TO REMEMBER… 1 John 4:7-12 Many people simply can’t believe that the Lord loves them. Others believe that He loves them, but only when they are pleasing Him in some way. Why is it so hard for us to accept His unconditional love? One reason is that we have a hard time loving others without condition. We might say the words I love you to our spouse, children, friends, coworkers or fellow believers, but all too often are calculating in our mind whether or not they have lived up to our standard. We sometime excuse ourselves from loving certain people because their behavior upsets or annoys us. The fact that we place restrictions on extending favor causes us to wrongly assume that the Lord does likewise. Another reason is poor self-image. Considering ourselves unworthy we refuse to accept God’s love. You know what? None of us are worthy of the Heavenly Father’s goodness and mercy-so you can let go of that excuse once and for all. We are not coming to Him based on our worth. Rather we are coming to Him based on His grace, and our position is secure in Christ. To put yourself down as “beneath His grace” is to trample on His loving, generous gift. God arranged an awesome divine way for us to be reconciled to Him, and His greatest desire is for relationship with each of us. If you feel unloved or struggle to accept yourself, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth of our Heavenly Father’s love for you-and to sink it deep into your heart. Receive the truth that He reveals. It will be a completely different story about your value as an individual.
NOTES • We are currently in the process of several bible study sessions. Please contact Charlie Albertson or Charlie Hicks if you are interested in joining one. • CCF offers numerous serving opportunities within the church. There are signup sheets on the back table for those who want to get involved.
HERE WE GROW!! Our youth are very important to the future of CCF. Our children’s and youth church is growing tremendously. The early years are a crucial time in life. Spiritual growth in kids can lay the foundation for a lifelong, joyous relationship with Jesus Christ. We offer nursery for infants 3 and under during church service. We also have Lil’ Wranglers church for children 4-11. In this class they have a message, snacks and activities. They also have a Christmas program in December and may also perform songs for the church throughout the year. Our Youth class is for teenagers 12-18. This class also partakes in many activities throughout the year. They may get together for Bible study, work another church event, or participate in camps. They also take part in a youth church convention in Branson. These kids organize fundraisers throughout the year to help support these activities.
YOU ARE LOVED!
A CHURCH IS ONLY AS STRONG AS ITS PEOPLE!
I hope you enjoyed the first edition of the new CCF newsletter. This was started as a way to keep our members and visitors informed of past and future events and will be published quarterly. Roping the Word
VOLUME 1 ISSUE 1
Cowboy Capital Fellowship was formed in 2010. We are so proud to carry on a great western legacy here in Lenapah and at the same time honor our Heavenly Father by loving our neighbor and serving the needs of our community. It has been such a blessing to see God raise up this church family to do His work in the furthering of His kingdom. We are people from every walk of life and we encourage you to come as you are. You may see everything from jeans, boots, casual clothes, to a coat and tie. We just want you! We meet on Monday evenings at 7:00 in the old rock gym in Lenapah, OK and end promptly at 8. The last Monday of the month we have a potluck dinner that starts at 6:30. We may also gather in the gym, pasture, arena, or wherever we feel the need! Come join us for a time of worship through country gospel singing and sharing God’s word.
