Saskatoon Blades @ Kamloops Blazers - November 23rd, 2012 The Saskatoon Blades (10-11-0-1) play their 4th game of their 5-game BC Division road trip tonight as they take on the Kamloops Blazers (19-5-1-1). The Blades are coming off of a 5-2 loss to the Victoria Royals in their last game and currently sit 6th in the East Division, but are only 2 points out of 3rd with games in hand. Blades Last Game The Saskatoon Blades saw their 2-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday night as they fell 5-2 to the Victoria Royals. Former-Blade Jamie Crooks scored a pair of goals for Victoria as they found the back of the net 3 times in the second period to break the game open. In the end, the Blades got offence from Brenden Walker and Matej Stransky in the losing cause, while Brandon Magee, Alex Gogolev and Tyler Stahl scored along with Crooks for Victoria. In goal, Patrik Polivka made 29 saves to win for the Royals while Andrey Makarov stopped 22 shots through two periods before being relieved in the third by Alex Moodie. Previous Meeting These two teams last met on December 14th, 2011 in Saskatoon as the visiting Kamloops Blazers dumped the Blades 6-3. Offensively, the Blazers got goals from Ryan Hanes, Logan McVeigh, Tim Bozon, Bronson Maschmeyer and a pair from Aspen Sterzer. For Saskatoon, Ryan Graham scored his 1st career WHL goal in the loss while Matej Stransky and current Kelowna Rocket Ryan Olsen also hit net for the Blades. Andrey Makarov made 32 saves in the Blades goal while Cole Cheveldave earned the win for Kamloops by stopping 26 pucks. Injuries Causing Concern The Saskatoon Blades currently have 6 key players listed with injuries. The most serious of the injuries belongs to Jessey Astles, who had his wrist slit by a skate recently against Regina. He is expected to make a full recovery but an exact return date isn't known.
