Secondary Schools Equestrian Cup Thursday 12 April 2018

VENUE: Woodhill sands – 24 James Mackie Road, Helensville ENTRY CLOSING DATE: Monday 2 April 2018 all entries to be made online at Equestrian Entries we will let schools know when the entries have opened. (Any entries after this date will not be accepted also entries will not be accept without the health and safety form signed by the school.) COST PER RIDER: $65 (includes ground fees, class entries, administration. This does not include use of yards.) FIRST AID/MEDICAL: There will be trained First Aid Responders on site. FOOD & REFRESHMENTS: A full canteen selling hot and cold drinks and food will be on site throughout the day. YARDING/CAMPING: Yarding/camping is available on request but they are not to be used unless organised prior to the competition. PRIZES: The aim of the Secondary Schools competition is to put back into secondary school level Equestrian sport and to encourage the development of secondary school level show jumping and show hunter riders. Composite Teams: The Secondary Schools Equestrian Cup Committee will put together composite teams from schools who are unable to put forward a full team. Once a rider has been put onto a composite team they cannot be taken out to be placed back in their school team if one of the other riders cannot compete. These teams will be announced before the competition on our face book page. Composite teams WILL be eligible for overall placings. Please make payment and enter as normal, in the event we are unable to make a place available in a composite team then the rider will be informed and entries refunded. No teams will be accepted where schools have made up their own composite team. Payment: Payment must be made in full by the closing date of entry. All payments must be made by direct credit to the following account: The Secondary Schools Equestrian Cup Trust 12 3136 0332438 00 Schools will only be invoiced if an invoice is requested directly with the Committee. RULES AND REGULATIONS: ESNZ rules and regulations apply to this event. Rules and Regulations will be made available at the event should you need them. Please be aware that there is some tack that is not allowed in the Show Hunter Ring. Please check the ESNZ website. TEAM ENTRIES: 1. There will be a maximum number of teams, with a maximum of four riders per team. (If appropriate numbers are not reached then the organising Committee have the right to cancel the event) Entries will be accepted on a first in first served basis until the maximum numbers of teams has been reached. 2. The organising Committee reserves the right to refuse entries that are received after the entry closing date. 3. A team will consist of 4 riders: 2 riders to compete in Show Jumping and 2 riders to compete in Show Hunter. Each student may ride only one horse for the competition in EITHER Show Jumping or Show Hunter NOT both. 4. Riders may be in any form from Year 9 to Year 13 in any combination and must be full-time secondary school students 5. Riders may ride in either Pony or Hack divisions in their respective discipline and compete in 2 classes. Rules for the age limit for riders on ponies will be the same as ESNZ rules. 6. Schools may enter more than 1 team. 7. If a school has more than 1 team entered no rider (or horse) may be in more than one team. 8. In the interests of fair play, it is expected by the organising Committee that riders will enter into class heights at which they would normally compete. UNIFORM: 1. Correct safety helmets must be worn for all phases and whenever a rider is mounted. 2. Appropriate school uniform must be worn (Please note formal riding jackets are not permitted) 3. Riders must wear their allocated back number for all classes.

ADMINISTRATION: 1. Each school must provide a Team Manager who will be present at the competition. A mobile phone number for this Manager must be provided to the Organisers so contact can be made on the event day. 2. Each school must provide 1 helper per team as well as the helper’s mobile number on which they can be contacted during the competition. The team’s entry will not be accepted unless this is provided. The helper must turn up to their duty if they do not the school may not be invited back for the next years event. 3. ALL schools must sign and provide the organising Committee with the attached Health and Safety form. SCORING: 1. Teams will accrue points according to the placings awarded to individual riders. 10 points for 1st place down to 1 point for 10th. Ribbons will be awarded from 1st to 6th in each class. 2. If class has below 10 riders in it then the organising Committee reserves the right to not allocate all riders with points. It would be done on a pro rata basis. This will be notified before the event begins. 3. Points will be combined from each of the four team riders to produce an overall team score. Team overall placings will be awarded 1st through to 6th. 4. As this is a team event a Teams Presentation will take place at the end of the event and team members are expected to be correctly attired as photos will be taken. If time and weather allows the presentation will be mounted.

DISPUTES PROCEDURE / PROTEST: 1. The Chief Judges are appointed to receive and deal with written protests. 2. A written protest from the Team Manager must be received within half an hour of the posting of the results, upon the receipt of a $50.00 protest fee. This fee is refundable if the protest is upheld. 3. The protesting party shall be comprised of a Team Manager and rider only and the protest will be discussed with the Chief Judges in the Office. 4. The decision of the Chief Judges will be final.

ABSOLUTELY NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED AT THE WOODHILL SANDS VENUE NOR ARE DOGS ALLOWED TO BE IN VEHICLES ON THE GROUNDS. ALL RIDERS COMPETE AT THEIR OWN RISK. ANY DAMAGE TO SPECTRATORS OR PROPERTY WHILST AT THE COMPETITION IS NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ORGANISERS OR WOODHILL SANDS.
