Executive Summary | Highlights Retail marketplace app Wish surged on Facebook last quarter, taking the No. 2 app install advertiser spot behind Instagram. This was the first time Wish had ranked this highly since 3Q16. Chat stories app HOOKED was the top advertiser by share of voice on Instagram for 2Q17. The app had also been No. 1 in terms of SOV on the network in the first quarter of 2017. IGG was the top mobile game advertiser on Facebook in 2Q17 with its strategy title Lords Mobile. MZ’s Game of War was No. 1 on Google AdWords/AdMob for the quarter in terms of share of voice. Swimwear shopping app Cupshe was the top app install advertiser on the Pinterest ad network for 2Q17. It had ranked at No. 8 on the platform during the previous quarter.

Facebook | Top U.S. Advertisers by Share of Voice Instagram Wish
Spotify made a big push last quarter, entering the top five of Facebook app install advertisers at No. 4 overall. The app was ranked at No. 40 in 1Q17 and No. 41 in 4Q16.

Retail app Wish returned to the Facebook top 10 at No. 2 after having ranked at No. 15 in 1Q17. The last time it made the top 10 was 4Q16, when it was No. 7 overall.

IGG’s Lords Mobile was No. 1 among gaming app install advertisers. This was the first time since 2Q16 that the game appeared in the Facebook top 20 advertiser ranking.

HOOKED retained its No. 1 ranking from 1Q17 in Q2. Its competitor in the growing chat stories genre, Yarn, was ranked at No. 6 last quarter. It didn’t make the top 20 in 1Q17.
Amazon Mobile Strike Yarn Snake VS Block Zombie Frontier 3 King of Avalon
The presence of games in the Instagram top 20 increased over 1Q17, when there were seven total. Last quarter saw nine appear among the top 20 advertisers.
Sweat: Kayla Itsines Aaptiv GOAT Wish Choices Recolor Tap Sports Baseball
Notable absences last quarter included HBO NOW and Showtime, which had ranked at No. 8 and No. 16 on the Instagram ad network in 1Q17, respectively.
