Sausages, burgers, potato salad, coleslaw, ice cream and strawberries – yes it was the leavers BBQ in their last week at school – a traditional event at Hollywater. The weather was beautiful, the food was brilliant the company superb! Some of the food was prepared by the pupils – and some was prepared by staff. This year we had strawberries and cream - the strawberries had been picked by Key Stage 4 pupils a couple days earlier - this was a new idea and one we definitely hope will become a tradition!

The show was hosted by ‘Ant’ Miss Clancy and ‘Dec’ Miss Kitching and the judging panel was made up of ‘David Walliams’ Mr Hardy, ‘Alesha Dixon’ Mrs Whillians ‘Amanda Holden‘ Mrs Drennan and ‘Simon Cowell’ Mr Arnott. They all dressed up and were very funny! Many people took part. I sang with my dog, Sam, Kelvin wrote his own rap and sang to the Devlin song ‘Rewind’ with Mrs Shuff and Miss Strugnell. Toby sang a song and Mrs Appleton, Mrs Suart and Mrs Taylor helped him as he got very nervous. Chloe played her guitar and sang a love song – it was very good. Mrs Butler’s singing group sang together which was lovely to hear. All the judges thought the acts were brilliant and said that everyone must have worked really hard. The winner was Kelvin for his fantastic rap, second place was 1L, the Train dance and in third was 3P, the World Cup dance. A massive well done to all who took part, we look forward to the next one!
