BOYS TRAVELING REPORT: Not Submitted – Review verbally at meeting GIRLS TRAVELING REPORT: Aug, 2011 Girls Program – Brad Dahl, VP 1. OMGHA U14 Girls will have (1) U14A team and (1) U14B team for a total of (2) U14 teams. 2. Conducted meetings with both Maple Grove and North Metro High School coaches to discuss how they can further impact OMGHA’s girls program. 3. 3rd Party Skill Development Instructor being looked at for in-season skill development. 4. Skater and Goalie pre-tryout camps have started 5. All Girls tryout evaluators are set. 6. Tryout Data entry meeting is set for September 13 th. 10U Program – Ken Helvey, Director 1. David Prokop will instruct Development Camp. The objective of the development camp is threefold: a. Player Development b. Coaches Development c. Player placement at the appropriate skill level 2. Player numbers are slightly down for 2011 – 2012. We anticipate approximately 40 skaters. One U10A Team and Two balanced U10B Teams. 3. NEW Goalie incentive program coming soon. WE NEED GIRL GOALIES 4. All tournaments are registered. 3 tourney’s for the two B teams. 4 tourney’s for the A team 5. Many qualified coaches have been identified for the three U10 teams. Interviews will be conducted. 12U Program – Dan McLean, Director 1. Tournaments done and registered. 2. The Upper U12A Team, Lower U12A Team and two balanced U12B Team format for the 2011 – 2012 season has been communicated to parents and players. 3. We will conduct an Upper U12A only tryout again in 2011 – 2012 ($50 charge). Players not participating in the Upper U12A tryout will participate in a traditional tryout. 4. Rob Roy will be returning to be the non-parent head coach for the Upper U12A team. 5. Advertising in Lets Play Hockey for a non-parent coach to coach the Lower U12A team. 6. U12 Pre-Tryout camp has started. OMGHA Player Registration for the 2011 – 2012 season is now open. Communicated to parents via email.

OMGHA Policy for U14 Age Eligible Players wishing to tryout for High School (Language can also be found on the OMGHA website: Tryout Info Tab / U14 Tab). Communicated to parents via email.

U14 age eligible players will be allowed to participate in High School tryouts without penalty. In order to have the flexibility to return to the OMGHA team they were placed on following OMGHA tryouts, the player must have registered for OMGHA Hockey and participated in the OMGHA tryouts. If a players chooses not to register for OMGHA and does not participate in OMGHA tryouts, they will be allowed to participate in OMGHA hockey by registering (applicable late fees will be applied) and they will be placed on the lowest level team. Players who are offered a roster spot at the High School and who choose to leave OMGHA will receive appropriate refunds. If roster spots become available on the U14A Team, the U14A Head Coach, Level Director, Girls VP and the ACE Coordinator will determine “if” and “which” players from the U14B Team will be offered to move up to the U14A Team. The number of players who leave the U14A Team for High School will not necessarily determine how many U14B players are offered U14A roster spots. The tryout results and balancing (# of skaters) of the U14A & U14B Teams will be taken into account. OMGHA Coaches Registration for the 2011 – 2012 season is now open. Coaches are required to register via the OMGHA website: Coach Info Tab. Communicated to parents via email. 4. The All Girls Player and Parent Meeting was August 28th at 7:30. The agenda emailed to parents. The Armstrong U14 goalie’s parents were present and indicated they will inform us as to whether or not she will play for OMGHA – she is currently registered to play for Armstrong. 5. Coaches – There have been some changes to the Coaches Education Guidelines (CEP Certifications) Please be proactive and check the following USA Hockey website for additional details: http://www.usahockey.com//Template_Usahockey.aspx?NAV=CO_02&ID=19532 Communicated to parents via email. 6. Jon Erickson was hired to coach the U14A team. Marc Cooey has indicated that he would like to coach the U14B team. 7. Pre Tryout Camp dates have been communicated to parents and posted on the OMGHA website. Pre Tryout Registration will be on-line this year. The Girls Traveling Committee is working with the North Metro and Maple Grove High School Coaches to run the U12 & U14 Pre Tryout Camp. Communicated to parents via email. 8. 19U Program 1. Annual recruitment begins - OMGHA is proud to be one of a select few associations to host a team at this level. 2. Greg Rogers is potentially interested in returning as the U19B Head Coach 3. OMGHA will be hosting the Fourth Annual U19B tournament in 2011- 2012.

HOUSE PROGRAM REPORT 1. Elementary Open Houses (8/3 & 8/31) were a huge success. Members of Boys and Girls High School programs participated this year to help promote hockey 2. First Wednesday Envelopes went out on 9/7. Another round will go out on 9/14 3. Just wrapping up our “Used Equipment Drive” to collect old youth hockey gear to provide for new joiners into the program. It has been a huge success and we have collected a lot of gear 4. Fall 3 on 3 kicked off successfully on Saturday 9/10. 5. In process of finalizing plans for next Saturday’s (9/17) “Try Hockey For Free” event a. Ice times - Girls 11:30 – 12:30; Boys 12:45 – 1:45 b. Finalized and posted Marketing Flyer for event at various outlets within community included daycares and preschools c. Coordinating volunteers for event d. Coordinating other activities to help make the event special i. Popcorn machine ii. Cookies and Gatorade iii. Bracelet give-aways for kids iv. Sharing equipment collected from used equipment drive 6. House program key dates finalized including the following – a. New Joiner Skates – 10/14, 10/19, 10/27 b. New Parent Orientation – 10/10 c. Full Time Goalies- are those girls that play as a dedicated goalie for their team. They must play all available District and Tournament Games. 1. A U10 girl willing to commit to playing fulltime goalie for the 2011-2012 season may be eligible for up to a $310 fee rebate on their registration fee (USA Hockey fee will not be reimbursed- as this does not go to OMGHA). 2. Full-time goalies will receive a full rebate of $150 if they attend the Pre-Tryout Camp offered by OMGHA for U10/ Squirts and meet the participation requirements above at season’s end. ii. Half Time Goalies- Are those girls that at season’s end have played in at least half of the District Games and half of the Tournament Games. 1. A U10 girl willing to commit to playing half-time goalie for the 2011-2012 season may be eligible for up to a $125 fee rebate on their registration fee (USA Hockey fee will not be reimbursed- as this does not go to OMGHA). 2. Half time goalies will receive a rebate of $75 if they attend the Pre-Tryout Camp offered by OMGHA for U10/ Squirts and meet the participation requirements above at season’s end. iii.
