2) LEVERAGE your resources wisely.

Today’s 10:10 message is...

Luke 16:10 “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. 11 And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven? 12 And if you are not faithful with other people’s things, why should you be trusted with things of your own?

The Parable of the Shrewd Manager with Ryan Dawson, Lead Pastor June 2, 2013

The Parable of the Shrewd Manager Luke 16:1-13:

What is this parable NOT about?

o

Be Stewards of Wealth

o

Be Stewards of Time (Eph. 5:15–17). “As if you could kill time without injuring eternity.” Henry David Thoreau.

What is this parable about?

This is about STEWARDSHIP. (Using your God-given resources in ways that honour God).

Stewardship is a HEART-ISSUE.

What is Jesus teaching us through this parable? Three lessons… 1) LIVE with an eternal perspective. Luke 16:9 “Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your earthly possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home.”

o

Be Stewards of Gifts and Abilities

o

Be Stewards of the Gospel (Good News) § (1 Thess. 2:4; 2 Cor. 4:7; 1 Tim. 6:20; 2 Tim. 2:2).

3) LOVE and SERVE God above all else. Luke 16:13 “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
