This is an AMAZING two day event where you will learn the tips and tricks used by the MAGICIAN herself, Jenny Haskins! This class will have you on a journey working with a variety of different projects, fabrics and stabilizers. While refreshing yourself with the correct way to stabilize towels and high pile fabrics, you will also learn tips and techniques to make hi-fashion bracelets and chockers. We will be working with In the Hoop quilting blocks from Jenny’s quick and easy Reverse Applique to piecing In the Hoop. And, we have fun making a Decorative Pin Keeper and a great holder for your Rotary Cutter or your glasses not to mention a super Key Fob that is quick and easy. What better way to spend time with your long time best friend or a new best friend! No need to bring anything but your own imagination and passion for embroidery and sewing! A brand new, top of the line embroidery machine will be provided on site to make you feel like a master of embellishment already! All stabilizers, thread, designs, and materials needed to stitch each project will be supplied, EVEN lunch and refreshments! REGARDLESS OF WHAT BRAND OF MACHINE YOU OWN, the techniques you learn at this event will inspire you, reinvigorate your interest and enhance your enjoyment of your hobby! Sign up early! Abbey Sewing Centers welcome Hope Yoder’s Cutting Edge 2-day Retreat October 7 & 8, 2017 Hope Yoder is an author, designer and sewing instructor who specializes in heirloom sewing and loves to incorporate traditional heirloom techniques and machine embroidery into romantic ladies clothes and accessories. She has expanded into the world of scrapbooking, using the die-cutting machines to make applique easier and faster. You may also know her because of her buttons. Embroidered buttons are a trademark of hers. Her Button Baubles were featured in the November/December, 2016 issue of Creative Machine Embroidery. Her work has been featured on the cover of Sew News, Designs in Machine Embroidery and Clotilde's Sewing Savvy magazine. She also writes for Australian Machine Embroidery, Creative Machine Embroidery, Sew Beautiful and House of White Birches. Hope is also a licensed Martha Pullen instructor and has done hands-on-workshops helping ladies dis-cover how to "Romance Their Wardrobe" using her special techniques. Her bright and energetic personality shows in her whimsical designs and her workshops. You can’t help but join in her enthusiasm. The Ballwin Abbey Sewing Center now carries Jenny Haskins thread and stabilizers. The thread is 100% Rayon and comes in 180 colors. The colors are beautiful and vibrant. Not all of the colors are duplicates of Robison-Anton. There are about 50 colors that do not have an R/A match.
