2 A MESSAGE FROM ALYSSA & SCOTT We would like to share a touch of our experiences over the past few months as we roll into Fall while having soaked up a lot of new information. For Alyssa, I, and the entire Aurora Sewing Center team it’s been a real busy Spring and Summer. Our team has worked hard, as we’ve all been forced out of our element and to do things a bit different, while pushing forward. In May we attended Quilt Market, June - the annual Banquet, July - Bernina University, and August - Baby Lock Tech. We are learning a lot about this exciting and creative sewing space. Some might equate it to drinking from a fire hose. We’ve touched a lot of new people, products and projects, and gained a lot of new ideas. From our interactions with you and new friends within both the Bernina and Baby Lock families, we’ve learned a lot about the wonderful relationships our mother formulated over the years along with the inspiration she provided so many. During these journeys these interactions often caused us to pause, or it produced a good hug, or a story or two was told as we learned more and more about our mom’s passion and contributions to this industry, and friendships. This has forced us to reflect on her not being with us physically, and of course the environment she created. At times we’ve needed to step away to catch our breath, or celebrate and laugh hard. We’ve met a lot of wonderful people, and we look forward to meeting and getting to know you too if we’ve not yet met. We would like to express a special thank you to all of those that have shared a hug or a story. And …. Wow! What a way to start off our first Bernina University, by bringing home to all of you the Bernina Presidents Award. This award is all about recognizing the Bernina Dealer that best exemplifies the spirit of cooperation, Bernina education, modern store merchandise concepting, having a well-developed educational approach, dedication and years serving Bernina customers. Mom always strived to achieve this award with her team. I don’t feel we can put in words how excited she was that evening looking over all of us. What an honor to our mother, and the entire Aurora Sewing Center staff, teachers, past and present, and of course all of you! Through our travels, learnings and all the new contacts made leading into the Fall Semester, the Aurora Sewing Center team is excited to continue bring many new and exciting classes, clubs and events to you all, tailored for a variety of skills, interests and ages. This is in addition to the new Bernina 5 Series line and 790 Plus, Bernina 790/880 upgrade, the new Baby Lock Triumph and Intrepid, Destiny 2 upgrade, the new Eversewn 30 along with many other new items. Thank you teachers for having the passion and taking the time to assemble this great Fall Semester offering! We all look forward to seeing and/or meeting you soon, and seeing your completed projects. LEARN TO QUILT Diane This class is designed for those people who have a desire to learn to quilt. We will cover all the basic skills needed to become a quilter, while producing your very first quilted project – a wall hanging. The following subjects will be covered: quilting terminology, reading a pattern, cutting, piecing, pressing, appliqué, borders, adding a sleeve, binding, and label making. In a few short weeks you will go from novice to confident beginner and ready to take on your very first full sized quilt project.

We’ll learn to read a pattern and discover the fundamentals of beginner appliqué and cutting. 2 A MESSAGE FROM ALYSSA & SCOTT We would like to share a touch of our experiences over the past few months as we roll into Fall while having soaked up a lot of new information. For Alyssa, I, and the entire Aurora Sewing Center team it’s been a real busy Spring and Summer. Our team has worked hard, as we’ve all been forced out of our element and to do things a bit different, while pushing forward. In May we attended Quilt Market, June - the annual Banquet, July - Bernina University, and August - Baby Lock Tech. We are learning a lot about this exciting and creative sewing space. Some might equate it to drinking from a fire hose. We’ve touched a lot of new people, products and projects, and gained a lot of new ideas. From our interactions with you and new friends within both the Bernina and Baby Lock families, we’ve learned a lot about the wonderful relationships our mother formulated over the years along with the inspiration she provided so many. During these journeys these interactions often caused us to pause, or it produced a good hug, or a story or two was told as we learned more and more about our mom’s passion and contributions to this industry, and friendships. This has forced us to reflect on her not being with us physically, and of course the environment she created. At times we’ve needed to step away to catch our breath, or celebrate and laugh hard. We’ve met a lot of wonderful people, and we look forward to meeting and getting to know you too if we’ve not yet met. We would like to express a special thank you to all of those that have shared a hug or a story. And …. Wow! What a way to start off our first Bernina University, by bringing home to all of you the Bernina Presidents Award. This award is all about recognizing the Bernina Dealer that best exemplifies the spirit of cooperation, Bernina education, modern store merchandise concepting, having a well-developed educational approach, dedication and years serving Bernina customers. Mom always strived to achieve this award with her team. I don’t feel we can put in words how excited she was that evening looking over all of us. What an honor to our mother, and the entire Aurora Sewing Center staff, teachers, past and present, and of course all of you! Through our travels, learnings and all the new contacts made leading into the Fall Semester, the Aurora Sewing Center team is excited to continue bring many new and exciting classes, clubs and events to you all, tailored for a variety of skills, interests and ages. This is in addition to the new Bernina 5 Series line and 790 Plus, Bernina 790/880 upgrade, the new Baby Lock Triumph and Intrepid, Destiny 2 upgrade, the new Eversewn 30 along with many other new items. Class space is limited and classes generally fill quickly, so please register and pay early!Mail or fax to store location where the majority of your choices take place. CLASS REFUND POLICY: We must make a commitment to our teachers one week prior to the start of their classes. Therefore, refunds are available when a cancellation is made ONE WEEK BEFORE THE FIRST CLASS, LESS A $5 HANDLING FEE. Cancellations made after that time will receive a CREDIT FOR STORE MERCHANDISE ONLY, LESS THE $5 HANDLING FEE. No refunds or credits will be given once a class has begun. In the event that ASC must cancel a class, individuals who register for that class will be contacted and given a full refund or the substitution of another course.
