Parshat Kedoshim -פרשת קדושים Yom Haatzmaut Shabbat with Shalva
May 14th 2016 - ו' אייר תשע"ו Shabbat Shalom to all our members and guests!
Shaarei Tefillah is the destination for families and individuals from diverse Jewish backgrounds who share a common desire for strong Jewish values, relevant inspiration, personal growth and a warm welcoming community!
Shabbat with Yashar Koach to our Yom Haatzmaut Committee;
Ruby Judelman, Jodie Katz & Yael Katzman For organizing our Yom Haaztmaut speaker & campaign for Shalva. Thank you Jodie for organizing the flowers & decor.
Happy 68th Birthday to the State of Israel. Shevach V'hoda'ah - thank you to G-d - for giving us this amazing gift after 2000 years and thank you to all those amazingly brave (and young) soldiers who would prefer to be "just regular kids" but instead are protecting and ensuring our greatest dream continue to be realized - l'hiyot am chofshie b'artzeynu - to be a free nation in our own homeland! On this day, our Shaarei Tefillah Family stands proud of our own Elliot Wine who is amongst these brave soldiers! As per my poorly photoshopped picture, they are ALL in our hearts...but there is a little special heart from all of us here for Elliot!

YOM HAATZMAUT KIDDUSH
Yom Ha'atzmaut Sameach and I am thrilled to celebrate with our STC mishpacha this Shabbat! After all - Israel is all about Achdut! It's an honour to be a Rabbi of a community that is so supportive of Eretz Yisrael, and chooses to celebrate each year by picking one of the many worthy and truly special causes in Israel that need our support. This year we are proud to be highlighting Shalva, are sending special needs children to camp, and are hosting a special guest speaker from Israel, a parent of one of these children. After that, we will share a few extra l'chaims after davening...and I imagine some other treats. Yes indeed Am Yisrael Chai!
