12-1/2”x12-1/2” Finished Cutting Directions for 1 Block

 



From Background Fabric Cut: - (4) 4”x4” Squares (A) - (8) 3-1/2”x3-1/2” Squares (B) From Brown Fabric Cut: - (2) 4”x4” Squares (C)



From Green Fabric Cut: - (2) 4”x4” Squares (D) From Red Fabric Cut: - (4) 3-1/2”x6-1/2” Rectangles (E)

Half Square Triangles 

Mark a Diagonal line corner to corner on one Background “A” Square



Lay one Background “A” Square on top of one Brown “C” Square



Sew a 1/4” seam on either side of the drawn line



Cut in half on the Diagonal line



Press towards the Brown triangle



Square block to 3-1/2”x3-1/2”



Repeat previous (6) Steps till you have made a total of (4) Brown Half Square Triangles, and (4) Green Half Square Triangles

Star Points 

Layer (1) Background “B” square onto the left side of (1) Red “E” Rectangle..



Draw a diagonal line corner to corner on the Background “B” Square as shown.



Sew from corner to corner on the line. Trim 1/4” away from sewing line. Press seam towards the Background “B” Triangle.



Lay (1) Background “B” Square on the opposite end of the “E” Rectangle.



Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the “B” Square as shown.

Star Points Continued 

Sew from corner to corner on the line. Trim 1/4” away from the sewing line. Press seam towards the Background “A” Triangle



Repeat Previous (6) Steps to make a total of (4) Star Points

Assembling the Block 

Layout (1) Brown Half Square Triangle, (1) Green Half Square Triangle, and (1) Star Point as shown.



Sew the Brown Half Square Triangle to the Green Half Square Triangle. Press seam open.



Sew Star Point block to the unit you just sewed. Pressing in the direction of the arrow.



Repeat previous (3) Steps to make a total of (4) Star point blocks. Blocks should measure 6-1/2”x6-1/2”



Layout (4) Star Point blocks as shown



Sew blocks into rows. Pressing in the direction of the arrows



Sew rows together. Pressing in the direction of the arrows. Block should measure 12-1/2”x12-1/2”
