Chapter 24 member, I would like to thank the folks at Energy Machine LLC, located in Waverly New York, for a very informational tour. Their knowledge in the gas industry is extensive. We were shown their process used to repair damaged flanges and threads to the gas pipes used in the drilling fields. Best of all was a detailed overview of the gas industry here and out West. This month we will be touring CAF USA plant in Elmira Heights. This factory has produced railway vehicles since 1986 under the ownership of ABB and Adtranz. CAF has established this plant as their North American manufacturing headquarters, centralizing the management, the coordination with all US suppliers and onsite support for the US customers. This facility is located on thirty-eight acres and has a covered surface of 440,800 sq. ft. Please wear safety shoes and safety glasses if you have them. Hope to see you there for this very informational tour. Our Chapter has moved our website to the SME Corporate website. To book mark our website please visit http://i.sme.org/c024/Home/. The website will be a better tool for our Chapter to communicate with not only our members, but with all SME members across the nation. We are still currently working on the new website and would welcome any ideas on how to improve the site. The advertising is now being listed in the bulletin and directly on our website. Being part of the national site should also increase exposure of our advertisers. So come on out and join your fellow Chapter 24 Members for a night of learning and fellowship.
