SPE, as the largest individual member organization serving professionals in the upstream oil and gas industry having 143,000 + members in 16 regions, 147 countries, 199 professional sections, 337 student chapters
SPE Mission To collect, disseminate, and exchange technical knowledge… and to provide opportunities for professionals to enhance their technical and professional competence
SPE Vision Enable the global oil and gas E&P industry to share technical knowledge needed to meet the world’s energy needs in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
SPE Romanian Section Description SPE Romanian Section was established on 25 June 1994 to provide the petroleum community the expertise which its members have accumulated during their carrier in the field. Being a member of SPE International provides a great opportunity to share and benefit from all SPE International information resources. SPE Romanian Section has great activities and at this time has about 700 SPE Members and three SPE Century Club Members. For SPE Romanian Section achievements our members received Regional an International Appreciations and Awards.
SPE–ROM is a nonprofit professional association that was established in 2000 to provide financial support to SPE Section projects. SPE–ROM has its own statute and SPE Romanian Section Committee serves also as SPE–ROM Committee

1. International Awards International awards recognize individuals and companies that make significant technical and professional contributions to the petroleum engineering profession and to the worldwide oil and gas industry. Award recipients are announced in July, posted on the SPE website, and published in the Journal of Petroleum Technology. The awards are presented during the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition.
