Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) is the nation’s oldest and largest youth mentoring organization. Its mission is to help boys and girls, most of whom are considered at-risk and living in single-parent homes, achieve their full potential through longterm personal relationships with carefully screened L-r. Bro. Johnson, Bro. Ezebunwa, DeShawne, Bro. Willis, Bro. Hemphill
and caring volunteers. Members of Gamma Upsilon Graduate Chapter of Omega Psi Phi
Fraternity, Incorporated participated in Big Brothers and Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake. Bowl for Kids Sake is a fun and simple way to help children in the community and BBBS’s largest fundraiser with events taking place regularly from February to May. You can bowl with your business, church, school, family or fraternity. Each team raises pledges to support BBBS and receive a fun day of free bowling, drinks, prizes and pizza! In keeping with the tradition of the 8th District, the men of Omega Psi Phi were at it again, participating in the Sedgwick County Bowl for Kids Sake. The event was hosted by Cessna Aircraft Company and our Chapter was very well represented on the lanes and in the fundraising. The team of 5 Omega men and 1 little brother was the 3rd highest pledge earning team. With a goal of $1000, the team came in just short of the goal with $925. This was outstanding due to the

current state of the economy. Gamma Upsilon takes its Service to the community serious. Several member of this chapter have been Bigs in the program for years, including the current Basileus, Harry O. Willis, who has been matched with children for the past fourteen years. His current little, DeShawne, loves to spend time with Brother Willis and the men of Omega. The future is our youth and this is one way to ensure all have a chance to succeed.
