Takeovers offer an impactful roadblock of your brand on the Miniclip.com Homepage, Category pages and Game pages.
This is an example of a homepage takeover with a clickable header. A takeover is a background image placed behind the body of the Miniclip site.
The takeover header (above the site layout) is always 136 pixels high.
The body of the Miniclip site is 1010 pixels wide. Any content intended to be visible to the left or right of the site body should be included outside of this area.
We would recommend you aim to fit any key information and assets within the confines of the 1024x768 guide provided within the takeover template.
In all cases the maximum weight of the background image file will be limited to 140kb, regardless of subsequent image quality. You should therefore aim to optimize for this.
It's important to remember that around 25% of our users have a widescreen monitors of 1024 pixels or smaller. Therefore the main information has to be in the header and NOT in the gutters. This will ensure all our users will see your message.
Around 75% of our users do have widescreen monitors bigger than 1024 pixels. In order to ensure the takeover looks good for them as well, we strongly recommend that you design the takeover skin with a gradual gradient on all sides. The last pixel should be the same colour on all sides so that we can set the HTML colour to match that colour.
All custom creatives must be approved by our quality assurance prior to going live. For external design, we reserve the right to
decline certain versions or amendments, and request amendments where necessary. With Miniclip designed ad units, frequent or significant amendment or change requests may accrue additional design fees.

Only the takeover header is clickable, not the gutters. Therefore, to have a better performance, we strongly recommend placing a clear call-to action in this area. The clickable area size is 1010x100 pixels. The guide size is available in the takeover template PSD. The clickable area is automatically generated and overlaid on your takeover image. There is no need to create extra banners.

For each takeover skin, please supply the completed takeover file in JPEG format (max 140kb) and also as a layered PSD within the template available on the corporate website. This will allow us to make any minor changes
quickly and easily where necessary. If this is not possible we are also happy to accept GIF or PNG files of the
background image, provided they are within the file size limits outlined above. Clickable area:
Please supply the relevant destination URL. This one can include a click tracker and must be an absolute URL.
We strongly recommend that any clients (or agencies working on their behalf) download the latest version of the specs and
template PSD from our Media Centre before each new project, as this will contain the most up-to-date representation of the site, as well as the latest version of this guideline document.
