St Louis Park Hockey Association NO Fault Attendance Policy
Starting after MEA weekend, each player will be allowed 5 misses. This can be for any reason. Based on the number of different personal events and choices that can occur, this no fault attendance policy is intended to provide appropriate flexibility yet cap the absenteeism no matter what the reason, at 5 . The 5 absences are inclusive of all misses no matter the reason except for an injury or a sickness. This will assure fairness to all teammates and the team and assure no preferential selection of reasons for missing. In all cases the player should call and notify the coach that they will be gone as early as possible. If they cannot reach the coach they should send both a text and email. In all cases notice should not be given less than two hours before practices to assure coaches can plan accordingly. The 6th miss will result in a 1 game healthy scratch of which they must attend on the bench with helmet, or the scratch will carry over. Each additional miss after 5 will result in healthy scratch. The purpose of this policy is to promote and teach commitment to a team based sport, and discourage poor attendance that will hurt overall team development.
