98.90% of customers experienced NO OUTAGES during the week of January 30-February 5. For the week, there were 324 outage incidents, affecting 15,394 customers. • Full and partial circuit outages affected customers mostly in Hollywood Hills West, Beverly Grove, Woodland Hills, Playa Vista and Playa Del Rey. • Transformer outages affected customers mostly in Van Nuys, Leimert Park, West Adams, San Pedro and Porter Ranch.
LADWP Awards $360,000 in Grants to Five Non-Profits Five Los Angeles-based non-profits received a total of $360,000 in grants from LADWP to develop and implement new community outreach and public education activities focused on improving energy efficiency throughout the city. The five are: Liberty Hill Foundation; Barrio Action Youth and Family Center; Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment (PACE); African American Leadership Organization (AALO); and Clear Skies Ranch.
Tree Planting Continues LADWP’s partnership with City Plants continues the mission of planting new trees around the city to promote energy savings. In the month of December, 1,621 new trees were delivered, adopted and planted in the LADWP service area. That makes a total of 32,995 trees planted since the program was established in January, 2015.

Precipitation Numbers Remain Strong For LA, Owens Valley Recent rainfall in Los Angeles as well as snowfall in the Owens River Basin have brought relief to drought-stricken areas since the beginning of the water year on October 1. LA has received 16.57 inches of rain, which is 187 percent of average to date. In the Owens Valley area, 41.7 inches of snow (water content) fell in that same period, which is 253 percent of normal to date.
Expansion Completed for $50 Million Water Reclamation Plant Completion of the Terminal Island Water Reclamation Plant’s new $50 million expansion was announced on February 3 at the plant in San Pedro during a ceremony attended by the Mayor, LADWP’s Chief Operating Officer Martin Adams and Enrique Zaldivar, Director of the Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation. The expansion will double the facility’s capacity to recycle water and help save Angelenos more than 12 million gallons of potable water every day.
