Stylish Tote - Express Cutting Instructions Please prepare your fabric and iron-on fusible interfacing in advance. Label the pieces as you cut them. Refer to page 2 for a quick checklist. See the Suggest Cuƫng Layout for some help in cuƫng your fabric. 1. From the main fabric, cut: (pay close aƩenƟon when using direcƟonal fabrics) x

Two (2) 15” wide x 12” rectangles. If you have a direcƟonal print, this measurement is criƟcal...you could end up with a new design opportunity, otherwise!
From the lining fabric, cut: (pay close aƩenƟon when using direcƟonal fabrics) x
Two (2) 15” x 12” rectangles.

Four (4) 5” x 5” squares from the lining fabric (these squares are for the corners).
3. From the accent fabric, cut: Be sure to cut the strips first… x
One (1) 2 ¾” x 36” (to be used for the top bag binding).

Two (2) 2” x 36” (these are the straps).
x
Five (5) 6” x 6” squares. One of these squares will be used to embroider the four strap connectors in one hooping. The other four squares will be used as corner appliqués.

Two (2) 6” x 8” rectangles for the tab and tab lining.
4. From the Pellon SF101, cut: x
Two (2) 15” x 12” rectangles of iron-on fusible interfacing. Fuse the interfacing pieces to the back of the main fabric pieces.

One 15” x 12” rectangle of iron-on fusible interfacing. Fuse the iron-on interfacing to one of the lining pieces.

Five (5) 6” x 6” squares of iron-on interfacing. Fuse the iron-on interfacing to the 6” accent fabric squares.

One (1) 6” x 8” rectangle of iron-on interfacing. Fuse to the 6” x 8” tab piece.
Main Dominant fabric used for Bag Body — remnant may be used for inside pocket
Accent Used for straps, strap connectors, tab, and corner appliqués
Lining Used for Bag Lining, corner appliqués, inside pocket

Two (2) 2” x 36” strips of iron-on interfacing. Fuse to the two 2” strips of accent fabric (designated as straps). Decide which of your fabrics is Main, Accent, and Lining—you’ll need to know this 5.
