Sue Ferrere

Sue Ferrere Technical Assistance Manager, Pretrial Justice Institute Dr. Ferrere recently joined PJI as the technical assistance manager. Sue was a criminal justice planner in Jefferson County, Colorado, where she was instrumental in developing the Colorado Improving Supervised Pretrial Release project, a 10-county effort to develop a validated, pretrial risk assessment. Sue also specialized in therapeutic jurisprudence, developing coordinated justice system responses to individuals with behavioral health challenges, and helped start the Jefferson County Recovery Court. A former renewable energy scientist, Sue especially enjoys innovation at the junctures of science and law. She is thrilled to be an agent of pretrial reform at a time when research increasingly supports the commonsense solutions developed by PJI.
