SUPPLY LIST The Magic Pants Pamela Leggett, Instructor

[email protected]

This class will produce one of the most worn garments in your wardrobe – easy, comfortable and well-fitting pants! Pattern - Pamela’s Patterns #113 Pants…Perfected (available at Steve’s or pamelaspatterns.com)  If you have made the pants before, you will work off your already altered pattern. If this is your first time using the pattern, follow the measuring and sizing instructions to determine the correct size. Most everyone will be using the “narrow back” pattern piece, but if you are unsure, trace both. You will only need the Front and Back pieces, no waistband or pockets.  Trace the pattern pieces on tracing paper (I like to use the medical table paper available at Steve’s). Leave space around the pattern pieces on the paper, don’t cut them out. We will use the traced pattern to make our Magic Pants. Fabric

 

2 ½ yds of a stretch woven or heavy knit. The stretch woven should have at least 20% stretch.

Hold 10” of cross grain fabric next to a ruler. Pull your right hand, if the fabric stretches to 12”, you have 20% stretch. The fabric can have more than 20% for these pants.

If you are a size XS or S, you will not need as much fabric, 2 ¼ yds should work Prewash and dry the fabric prior to class.
