Issue No 14 6th January 2017

Greetings from Mr Archer I should like to introduce myself, having started at Trinity this term as an Assistant Headteacher, Head of House for Fry and a teacher of English. I am a committed Christian and I have many years’ experience of teaching in a school with a Christian ethos. I am very excited to be working with the staff and students of Trinity and I look forward very much to meeting parents and being part of the Trinity School community. With very best wishes. Mr Archer

Two Week October HalfTerm Proposal We are grateful to all those who responded to the survey. The governors are now considering your comments and will be informing you of a decision in the coming weeks.

Maths Puzzle Termly Maths Puzzle Starting this term, there will be a Termly Maths Puzzle for parents and students to work on together at home. The termly puzzle is

designed to encourage you and your child to work together on a problem that can be mathematical or logical in nature. We would ask that you work with your child rather than simply complete the puzzle for them or get them to complete it alone.

In the meantime, please continue to pay for items via cheque or cash in the normal manner via your child.

Any correct entry submitted to Mrs Penfold by the closing date will receive a House Point. There will then be a prize draw for first, second and third place which will award a higher number of House Points.

Students have been issued with new timetables to reflect the staff changes from January.

The first of our Termly Maths Puzzles can be found on the last page of this newsletter - print and enjoy! NB - use of colours for this puzzle makes the solution easier to see.

You should continue to use your SQuid account for your child's dinner/lunches.

We are in the process of setting up the new ParentPay system. You should have received your activation letters before Christmas. This was the first step and we would be grateful if you could activate your child's account as soon as possible. Parents will be able to start making payments via this system shortly and we will keep you informed of progress via our newsletters.

“He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8 We have been given the gift of another year and another new chance. This does not necessarily

mean making New Year’s resolutions we can’t keep, but can mean things like appreciating those we love and what we have even more. I wish you all a very happy and blessed 2017! God bless, Alice

Submit your entries to Mrs Penfold (S06 or S15) with your name and form by Friday 3rd February 2017.

The problem is to discover how the five guards can make these moves without crossing the route of another (no guard walks in the same square as any other and they don’t walk diagonally).
